A brunch café for two couples in Gwangalli: why Working Holiday?
I was meeting my husband's friend and his partner, so we headed to Gwangalli. Working Holiday Millak is an ocean-view café where Gwangan Bridge opens up right in front of you, and this time we decided to enjoy brunch and coffee there. Whenever I come to Busan I want to spend a relaxed day looking at the sea, and this was exactly that kind of day.
Gwangalli has so many cafés where you can look at the sea, but you still want somewhere with a good view, tasty food and a place you can comfortably stay for a long time. When a few people are meeting, it matters whether the seats are comfortable, too. Working Holiday Millak ticks all of those boxes, so I was looking forward to it even before we arrived.

Working Holiday Millak

How is the Gwangan Bridge view from the 7th floor?
Working Holiday Millak is on the 7th floor of the Bada Maru building, so you can take in the whole Gwangalli scene from above. The open view was striking the moment we walked in, and the sea and Gwangan Bridge outside the window made a really lovely picture together. It feels different from looking at the sea down on Gwangalli beach: from up high you get the wide sea and the city atmosphere around it at the same time.
Above all, I loved how Gwangan Bridge fills the view. The sea view is one of the main reasons to visit a Gwangalli café, and this place fully delivers on that. Just sitting by the window with a cup of coffee looking at the sea seemed enough to refresh my mood. If you want a break during a Busan trip or a café with a good atmosphere in Gwangalli, I'd recommend it.

How are the interior and sofa seats? Easy to stay a long time?
The interior is styled with a sleek feel. The clean yet stylish decor stood out, and it blended naturally with the sea view. It isn't a café that only has a good view; the space itself gives off a relaxed mood, which I liked. It suits taking photos with friends or chatting slowly.
What I liked most was the sofa seating. When you stay in a café for a long time, uncomfortable chairs can make you want to leave soon, but Working Holiday Millak has seats where you can sit comfortably and pass the time. Even with several people, it feels easy to linger, so I thought it would work well as a meeting spot. It also suits catching up with a couple of friends in Gwangalli or a date.

What did the four of us order?
After sitting down, we ordered jambon eggs Benedict, margherita pizza and four Americanos. Since we were a group, we picked food that's easy to share. Ordering a brunch dish along with pizza made it feel like a proper, leisurely meal rather than just a quick coffee.

Jambon eggs Benedict
The jambon eggs Benedict is worth a look if you like brunch. Eggs Benedict is all about the harmony of soft egg, sauce and bread, and the jambon (French-style ham) added more flavor on top. The ham's salty yet subtle savoriness mixed with the plain bread, and with the soft egg texture added, you got a range of tastes in one bite.
Ingredients with a moderate saltiness like jambon go well with the richness of egg, which made it great as a brunch dish. I liked how the bread, egg and ham came together naturally instead of each tasting separate. It doesn't push a strong, punchy flavor; several ingredients work in harmony, so it pairs well with coffee.

Margherita pizza
The margherita pizza we ordered alongside had a different charm from the brunch dish. Margherita is built on tomato sauce, cheese and basil, and because the ingredients are so simple, it matters that each flavor comes together well. The fresh tomato sauce and the rich, soft cheese balanced each other, and the fragrant basil on top made it a fairly clean-tasting pizza.
The cheese's richness adds to the satisfaction, while the bright acidity of the tomato sauce cuts the heaviness nicely, which is margherita's strength. It's easy to share with several people, and I was glad we ordered it with the Benedict. If brunch alone feels a little short and you want to add something to share, this is a good pairing.
Four Americanos
For drinks we ordered four Americanos, one each. Americano is a great match when you're eating brunch and pizza together. The coffee's bitterness tidied up the flavors of the food, and sipping between bites cleansed the palate, which made it easy to alternate between dishes. If you prefer the true taste of coffee over sweet drinks, or want something easy to drink with a meal, I'd recommend the Americano.

How was Working Holiday Millak as a meeting place for couples?
The biggest plus was that you can enjoy Gwangan Bridge and the sea view even while eating and drinking. The same dish can feel different depending on the surroundings, and thanks to the open ocean view and the sleek interior, an ordinary brunch felt a little more special.
It was also a nice place to spend a relaxed time chatting about this and that with my husband's friend and his partner. I was happy that there are sofa seats where several people can sit and talk comfortably. If you want a sea view in Gwangalli with a meal and coffee in one go, it's a café worth visiting.

Summary: who would I recommend it to?
Gwangalli has plenty of pretty cafés, but what stayed with me about Working Holiday Millak was the open Gwangan Bridge view from the 7th floor, the sleek interior and the comfortable sofa seats. Being able to enjoy shareable dishes like jambon eggs Benedict and margherita pizza made it a more satisfying time than just having coffee.
I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Gwangalli date spot, people who need a comfortable place to gather with friends, and anyone who wants brunch while looking at the Busan sea. If you want a view, atmosphere and a meal all together, give Working Holiday Millak a visit.
