Today, I went for a drive and a walk around Haman's Agyangnu Pavilion, then stopped by the beloved Haman sotbap spot, Jogane Sotbap 😋 When I searched for Haman restaurants, this Korean set-meal and pot-cooked-rice place came up again and again as a local favorite. So, lunch pick: here! Jogane Sotbap is in Beopsu, Haman, near Beopsu Elementary School! You can sense a good restaurant right from the entrance ☺️

As you would expect from a great Haman Korean set-meal restaurant, the parking lot is wonderfully spacious, so there was no parking stress 👍 Tour buses can pull in too, for group guests.

The restroom is beside the entrance~
A spacious, comfortable room for group gatherings
All right, shall we go in? My heart is fluttering—I think it is going to be delicious~~~

Inside, there were plenty of tables, and it felt spacious and comfortable. It would be so nice for a group gathering too.

Isn't the green, picture-frame-like view outside the window lovely too?

Sotbap set side dishes and clam doenjang soup

Just watching the sotbap being made made me hungry already. I wanted to eat it sooo badly~ 😋😋
Once we were seated, they first brought over the side dishes: buckwheat pancake, seasoned bean sprouts, cabbage wraps, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), tofu kimchi, spicy stir-fried pork, doenjang stew, and more. They would be so good with the sotbap, right? 👍

A spread that could not possibly look bad, right?? The moment I took a spoonful of the doenjang stew at Jogane Sotbap, I thought, wow, why is it so refreshing and nutty? Then I realized it was clam doenjang soup~ Of course! 👍
The doenjang stew had lots of tofu and all kinds of vegetables, and it was heavenly spooned right over the rice! Koreans really do need a steaming, spicy stew, haha.

Chewy pot-cooked rice with boiled pork and fish
The moment I lifted the lid, the glossy, pleasantly chewy rice made my appetite surge. With all the accompanying dishes, every single banchan (side dish) was tasty, so my chopsticks kept darting everywhere.
Wait, is ₩14,000 for this whole spread for real? The price is great and it tastes great too—what more could you ask for? Spicy stir-fried pork, buckwheat pancake, tofu kimchi.

The doenjang stew was not overly salty, which I loved, and the seasoning on the pork was just right. How do they season everything so well? It really felt like a true Haman favorite.

The suyuk (boiled pork) and fish were both so good. The pork was moist, tender, and beautifully cooked without even a hint of odor; with kimchi, it needed no further explanation 😋 The fish was the perfect amount for two people too.

And japchae, which you simply cannot leave out of a Korean meal, too 👍

Once you have polished off the sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) too, you have neatly cleared a wholesome Korean meal ☺️☺️
When you crave Korean food after an Agyangnu walk
Jogane Sotbap is near Haman's Agyangnu Pavilion, so after a walk along the Agyang embankment or while touring Haman, I thought, this is absolutely where to go when Korean food calls.
The side-dish selection was great, and neither the sotbap nor any of the accompanying dishes were overly seasoned, so I think it is somewhere older family members would enjoy too. Even on the day I visited, there were lots of local seniors and seniors traveling through! Definitely a local favorite 🙂
