Goseong pork galbi with Tabling room booking: Yongchon Gogi-jip

Yongchon Gogi-jip is a pork galbi (marinated pork rib) restaurant on Yongwon-ro in Toseong-myeon, Goseong, Gangwon. Arriving at 5pm, right as the weekday break time ended, three tables were already seated, and by the time we left the Tabling waitlist had closed and the parking lot was full. Two servings of seasoned pork galbi and hoe-naengmyeon (cold noodles with raw fish) for dessert made a solid meal, but book through Tabling in advance if you want one of the room seats.

Cheongna shabu-shabu salad bar: handmade tangsuyuk and chicken at

Shabuway Ruwon City Cheongna Branch is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu restaurant on the 2nd floor of Ruwon Top Plaza in Seohae, Incheon, a 5-minute walk from Exit 4 of Gajeong Station. On this fifth visit, the writer ate the salad bar's handmade tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), pork ribs and chicken along with mala xiang guo, the mushroom-scented broth and sapphire grapes for dessert. The salad bar at Shabuway was so strong that two or three refills of the side dishes left little room for the shabu-shabu itself.
