Gangnam Indian restaurant meal with steak: CURRY146
In short
CURRY146 Gangnam Branch is an Indian restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, near Seolleung Station. I ordered chicken makhani curry, flat iron steak, and mango lassi for a generously varied meal with approachable spice. A satisfying pick when you want something different from the usual lunch or dinner.

Memories of Indian curry in Anam, revisited in Seolleung
Today, I was really craving proper Indian curry for the first time in a while, so I looked for a good restaurant near Seolleung Station and visited CURRY146 Gangnam Branch. I already like curry in general, but there was another reason this visit felt especially welcome.

I graduated from Korea University, and when I was in college, the Indian restaurant I often saw in Anam was Oshal (오샬). I loved curry and naan then too, and the thought of enjoying Indian curry with a similar atmosphere in Seolleung led me to CURRY146 Gangnam Branch.

A different lunch or dinner option near Seolleung Station
When you look for restaurants near Seolleung Station, there are so many Korean restaurants and barbecue places, but sometimes you just want something different, right? Indian curry seems like a great choice for those moments. CURRY146 Gangnam Branch is conveniently located and well suited to lunch or dinner, so it seemed like a good spot for office workers too.

Chicken makhani curry and flat iron steak together
This time, I ordered chicken makhani curry, flat iron steak, and mango lassi.
Chicken makhani curry is one of my favorite curry styles, so I had high expectations. Its smooth tomato base and subtle spice made it easy to enjoy without feeling overwhelming. Strong spices can be a matter of taste, but this was nicely balanced overall, making it a relatively approachable option even for people trying Indian curry for the first time.
The chicken went well with the curry too. The tenderly cooked chicken had absorbed plenty of curry, so it was good on its own, and of course it paired beautifully with the sauce. It would be good with rice, but I think it would go especially well with naan (Indian leavened flatbread) if you want to fully enjoy the curry's flavor.
The unexpectedly satisfying dish from this visit was the flat iron steak. Adding a meat dish rather than ordering curry alone made the meal feel much more substantial. The lean yet juicy character of flat iron steak worked nicely with bites of curry in between.

Mango lassi alongside curry
You cannot leave out a drink when eating Indian curry, either. This time, I ordered mango lassi. Its sweet, smooth mango flavor neatly refreshed my palate between the curry's spices, so it was great with the food. Especially after a spicy or spice-forward bite, a sip made my mouth feel gently reset.

Memories of Anam after becoming an office worker
Personally, perhaps because I remembered eating at Oshal in Anam while attending Korea University, this visit to CURRY146 Gangnam Branch was more fun than simply trying a new Indian restaurant. It felt strangely sentimental to be eating the Indian curry I once had near campus in Seolleung now that I am an office worker.

If you have grown a little tired of choosing similar dishes every time you look for a restaurant near Seolleung Station, I think Indian curry is worth trying. From familiar but deeply flavored chicken makhani curry to flat iron steak and mango lassi, everything together made for a quite satisfying meal.

Especially if, like me, you have loved Indian curry since your college days, CURRY146 Gangnam Branch could be a nice place to enjoy a meal while bringing back a few memories in a different setting. On a day when you want something unusual near Seolleung Station or simply crave Indian curry, I would recommend CURRY146 Gangnam Branch as a restaurant worth visiting at least once.
