Dongtan BBQ with tablet ordering and local currency: Grill the Terrace

In short

Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch is a charcoal-grill Korean BBQ restaurant on the first floor of the Megabox building at Dongtan North Plaza in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, specializing in Uiseong garlic marinated meat. In a wide hall divided by partitions, with a tablet on every table, the order was the 600g Uiseong garlic platter (beef ribs plus pork belly), stone-pot kkakdugi fried rice with extra cheese, and bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) to finish — the garlic marinade left no gamey smell, just a nutty, savory flavor. With 3 hours of free underground parking and Hwaseong local currency accepted, Grill the Terrace is an easy choice for family gatherings and work dinners.

What we ordered at Grill the Terrace, plus the side dishes

The menu at Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch centers on beef ribs, pork belly, and pork ribs, with sides that pair well with the meat! Here's what we ordered that day.

  • Stone-pot kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice with cheese added
  • Bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) for dessert

The Uiseong garlic platter 600g comes with beef ribs and pork belly served together on one plate.

Beef ribs and pork belly marinated in Uiseong garlic sauce, sitting right on one plate. The subtle garlic fragrance meant zero gamey smell, just pure savory flavor. Ordering the combo platter is great because you get to try both beef ribs and pork belly!

Juicy charcoal-grilled pork belly

The juices sizzled out the moment it hit the charcoal grill. The beef ribs were tender and the pork belly was chewy in the best way — so delicious. Maybe because they use Uiseong garlic, but as a garlic lover, the garlic aroma here blew away other BBQ places I've been to. If you're looking for Dongtan pork belly, you have to try the garlic marinade!!

There's also a variety of sauces set out — whole grain mustard, wasabi, salt. It's fun picking whichever one suits your mood that day. The sauces are refillable at the self-serve bar too, so you can enjoy them freely.

Don't skip the stone-pot kkakdugi fried rice with extra cheese

Stone-pot kkakdugi fried rice topped with cheese
Cheese stretching from the stone-pot kkakdugi fried rice

This is the kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice we ordered along with the meat. Isn't this basically a K-dessert!! It comes out in a stone pot so you can fry it further into a crispy crust, and eating it with the meat is pure bliss. As the cheese stretches and mixes with the spiciness of the kkakdugi, my spoon just kept going back for more. So good, this fried rice...

Finishing with bibim naengmyeon, the free dessert cold noodles

A bowl of bibim naengmyeon served for dessert

After the meat, finishing off with bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) to cleanse the palate was perfect! The sweet-tangy sauce and springy noodles wrapped things up cleanly with zero greasiness. The combo with the BBQ was amazing... this bibim naengmyeon was so good..❤️
