A draft beer date in Euljiro: what is Eulsam Hof Euljiro Main Branch?
Eulsam Hof Euljiro Main Branch (을삼호프 을지로본점) is a draft beer pub near Euljiro 3-ga Station. After work or on a weekend evening, nothing heals quite like a cold draft beer in the alleys of Hip-jiro (Euljiro's trendy retro quarter) >.< Every Euljiro alley has that retro mood, so my boyfriend and I wander out here often, and this weekend we found a truly great draft beer spot haha. It's Eulsam Hof Euljiro Main Branch, a draft beer specialist near Euljiro 3-ga Station!

The hip vibe makes it a perfect Euljiro date course, and with its bar tables and cozy seats it's also great for popping in alone after work for a solo beer lol. Here's my honest, detailed review of how my boyfriend and I went all in on the signature beers and snacks >.<

Eulsam Hof Euljiro Main Branch: location and atmosphere
Eulsam Hof Euljiro Main Branch sits on a hot alley line a short walk from Euljiro 3-ga Station, so access was really easy. The moment I opened the door, the interior caught my eye, full of Hip-jiro charm! It isn't gloomy or like a typical old-school joint; it's a retro hof (Korean-style beer pub) vibe with one drop of sleek mood, so my energy shot up as soon as I walked in haha. From the neon signs on the wall to the lighting, photos come out great, so I immediately got why it's popular as a couples' date spot >.<

What did we order at Eulsam Hof?
At Eulsam Hof we ordered the signature draft beers 'Sulsul' and 'Toktok', plus grilled cuttlefish as a snack. I went through the menu carefully, and from the beer lineup to the snack names, it was full of wit lol. Since it's a beer specialist, I wanted to try the signature drafts, and after some deliberation we placed our order!
- Drinks: signature draft beers 'Sulsul' & 'Toktok'
- Snack: chewy, mild 'grilled cuttlefish'

We went with 'Sulsul' and 'Toktok', names that stick in your ears, and even before the beer arrived I was so curious what their charm would be haha

Sulsul vs Toktok draft beer: what's the difference?
Eulsam Hof's 'Sulsul' is a clean beer that goes down smoothly without catching in the throat, while 'Toktok' is a refreshing, foamless beer with prickly carbonation and a bitter hop flavor. When the cold draft beers arrived, I couldn't help gasping >.< The foam sat on top in a truly golden-ratio creamy layer, and the carbonation was alive.
We clinked glasses and gulped. 'Sulsul', true to its name, slid down smooth and clean without catching (sulsul means smoothly, effortlessly), and 'Toktok' had no foam, just a zingy fizz and a bitter hop flavor that hits your mouth with a tak, the ultimate in refreshing beers lol. Each has a distinct charm, so alternating between them meant we never got tired of either haha.

German tourists at the next table gave a thumbs up
At Eulsam Hof, German tourists at the next table told us the beer was fresh and delicious and gave a thumbs up. It was fun and made me proud! Some German friends traveling in Korea were sitting next to us drinking beer. Since they came from Germany, the homeland of beer, I was secretly curious what they'd think of Korean beer haha.
We made some light small talk, and after trying Eulsam Hof's beer, they said "This place's beer is really fresh and delicious (So good!)" and kept giving us thumbs up?! Getting approval from people from the country of beer, I swelled with national pride even though I'm not the pub owner lol, and my boyfriend and I just burst out laughing >.<

Eulsam Hof's grilled cuttlefish: a good beer snack?
Eulsam Hof's grilled cuttlefish is plump, thick-fleshed, and eaten dipped in a soy-mayo sauce with cheongyang chili (spicy Korean green chili). While I was still marveling at the beer, today's main snack, 'grilled cuttlefish', arrived golden brown! The flesh was so plump and thick it's incomparable to ordinary squid haha.

They snip it into bite-sized pieces with scissors, and it cut right through with zero toughness. I dunked a piece deep into the soy-mayo sauce packed with cheongyang chili and popped it in >.<

The outside had a faint grilled aroma and was crisp, while the inside stayed moist, chewy yet tender to bite T_T The more I chewed, the more sweetness and savory umami burst out, making it a perfect partner for cold, refreshing beer lol. My boyfriend and I never stopped our chopsticks and it vanished in no time!
