Weekend date dinner at Starfield Suwon: scallop oil pasta at Dalmatian

I went to Starfield Suwon over the weekend. I've been to plenty of malls, but the brands here really fit my taste. At other places I go and there's nothing to buy, but at Starfield Suwon there's always so much shopping to do. And even when I don't buy anything, the 6-hour free parking is the best haha :)

After shopping hard, we went for dinner to Dalmatian, the pasta spot everyone talks about at Starfield.

Where is Dalmatian inside Starfield Suwon?

Dalmatian is located on the 1st floor of Starfield Suwon. Walk in toward the food court(?) area and you'll spot a huge screen in the corner — that's Dalmatian.

Can you bring your dog to Dalmatian?

First off, you'll see tons of dog owners at Starfield. I don't have a dog myself, but I think it's a great place to walk one. At first I assumed every store allowed dogs, but I learned that a lot of places actually don't.

But Dalmatian, true to its name, is a fully pet-friendly restaurant. They even keep strollers and dog strollers separately for you.

The store even has dedicated chairs for dogs. Anyone can enter except dangerous breeds and large dogs over 15kg.

There's a dog-only menu too, and I even spotted the famous "meongpuccino" on it. But that doesn't mean it's only for dog owners —

Pet-free zone and general seating at Dalmatian

The inner part of the store is the pet-free zone,

and the outer part is general seating. Since it's separated like this, I'd recommend visiting even if you're not into dogs — this is a pasta place worth going for on its own.

They even have an open kitchen, and you can tell they really care about hygiene and details.

Every table had hand cream, and the cutlery was pretty too :)

What we ordered at Dalmatian Starfield Suwon

Dalmatian serves all the classic restaurant menu items — pasta, risotto, steak, pizza. We ordered the calzone salad, scallop & shrimp rosé risotto, and scallop oil pasta.

First, the pre-meal bread comes out like this. The spread feels like cream cheese.

And here come our dishes!

Calzone salad

The calzone salad felt like eating pizza dough with a salad.

When you cut it open, it's packed full of mozzarella cheese inside — I ate it together with the salad and Caesar dressing.

Scallop oil pasta

Next up, the scallop oil pasta. The scallops were super thick, and there were tons of them.

That plump yet tender texture — apparently scallops are high in protein haha, so I ate without guilt.

Scallop and shrimp rosé risotto

Then the risotto! The key to good risotto is that the rice grains don't get mushy, and even scooping it lightly with a fork, it held together nicely, thick and creamy.

Fresh lemon juice

Oh, and we also ordered fresh lemon juice, which was great because it wasn't too sweet. I make lemon water at home, and this was just slightly sweeter than that? Usually ade drinks are so sweet I regret ordering them, but this one I finished without hesitation haha.

Is Dalmatian good for a weekend date?

If you're looking for a restaurant or a good pasta spot at Starfield Suwon, Dalmatian is the place to go. There are other pasta places, but this kind of Italian-feeling spot is exactly what you want on a weekend date. And that Italian vibe works well for both brunch and dinner :)

Anyway, it was a really satisfying meal, and dog owners can visit comfortably since it's pet-friendly. That's the end of the review!
