Steak set restaurant in Euljiro 3-ga for a Switch On diet: Hurato

After my recent profile photo shoot, I was so hungry! Haha. The second it was over I was craving meat, so I searched for good spots nearby and decided on Hurato Sikdang Euljiro (후라토식당 을지로점)!!! Hurato is famous for gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet), but that day I wanted to eat my fill of meat, so I ordered the steak set. Here's my story of a filling meal in a clean, pleasant space!

Where is Hurato Sikdang Euljiro, and what are its hours?

Hurato Sikdang Euljiro is at 27 Mareunnae-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, in the Tower107 Building, B1, Unit B106, about 235 m from Exit 9 of Euljiro 3-ga Station, a 2-minute walk. It's open 11:00–21:30 on weekdays and 11:30–21:30 on weekends, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00 and last order at 20:30.

It's in the basement of Tower107, so it was easy to find, and I liked that the inside of the building was tidy too.

Parking is available, so it's convenient if you're coming by car.

Go down to the first basement level and Hurato is right there.

Is Hurato Sikdang Euljiro okay for eating alone?

Inside, Hurato is bigger than I expected and the tables are nicely spaced, so eating alone feels no pressure. I loved the wide space and the roomy table spacing as soon as I walked in.

Overall it's clean and comfortable, a nice place to eat in peace.

It really felt fine for solo diners, and when I visited, quite a few people were eating alone.

Ordering is easy with a QR code, and they run various receipt review events, so you can save a bit if you join in!

Why I chose the double steak over gyukatsu on the Switch On diet

Hurato is of course known for gyukatsu, but I was on week 2 of the Switch On diet that day, so I chose the steak set. I ordered the double steak with a Zero Coke and onsen tamago (Japanese slow-poached egg).

Hurato's steak set comes with meat that's lightly seared on the outside, and you finish it on a personal grill to your liking.

Grilling the meat yourself is part of the fun, too. I wanted plenty of meat, so I ordered the double steak, a Zero Coke and onsen tamago!

When you eat out on a diet, it matters to think about permitted foods and how many carbs you take in, right? That day I focused on the meat and kept my rice portion small.

What's in the double steak set, and how does it taste?

Hurato's double steak set comes with rice, soup, a vegetable salad, kimchi, salt and several sauces alongside the meat. Ta-da! The double steak set finally arrived. It's a well-rounded set and felt like a hearty meal.

Above all, I liked that you can grill the meat on the grill as much as you want.

Grilled until golden and eaten one piece at a time, it was really delicious.

If you love meat or usually eat a lot, I'd recommend the double steak. No matter how much I ate, there was still more meat. I was stuffed.. haha.

Onsen tamago: a must-add

My personal favorite at Hurato was the onsen tamago, a Japanese-style poached egg! Eaten with the rice, it was soft and nutty.

If you like Japanese-style poached eggs, definitely try it.

With rice it was soft and nutty and really good. I'd order it again next time too!

I came to Hurato Sikdang Euljiro to fill my empty stomach after the profile shoot! The spacious, comfortable restaurant, easy ordering and generous steak set made it a satisfying meal. I especially recommend it for days when you're craving meat or if you're looking for a place to eat alone.

If you're on the Switch On diet, it's worth considering for eating out too: dip the meat in salt and adjust your rice and side dishes. Next time I'm craving meat, I'll be back!
