Hongdae café: solo strawberry soufflé by big windows, Think Fruit
In short
Think Fruit is a dessert café specialising in seasonal-fruit soufflés in Hongdae (Mapo, Seoul), about a 4-minute walk from Exit 6 of Hongik Univ. Station. At Think Fruit, the writer ordered a strawberry soufflé (₩21,000), an iced americano and an iced salt cream coffee, then waited 30 minutes at a floor-to-ceiling window seat that feels like a 1.5th floor. The soufflé was cooked through, had no eggy smell and wasn't too sweet. Think Fruit's strawberry soufflé is worth the 30-minute wait and comes highly recommended.

Where is Think Fruit, and what about hours and parking?
Think Fruit (띵크프룻) is a soufflé dessert café on the 1st floor of 14-12 Wausan-ro 29-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul. It's open daily 12:00–21:00, with last order at 20:00. There's no parking lot, so you can't park there.

I was craving a really good dessert for the first time in a while, so I went to Think Fruit, a well-known soufflé spot in Hongdae. There's no parking, but it's only about a 4-minute walk from Exit 6 of Hongik Univ. Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport, which I liked. There's a standing signboard, so you can spot it from far away.

What's the atmosphere and seating like at Think Fruit?
Think Fruit is known for its big floor-to-ceiling windows and white-toned interior, and every table seats two. It's on the 1st floor but sits at a 1.5-floor height, so you can look down at the street outside, which makes it feel open.
The first thing that caught my eye inside was that big window view. It's the 1st floor, but it feels like the 1.5th floor, so you look down from above, and the open view feels refreshing. All the tables are for two, so it's no pressure to come alone, and it'd also be nice for friends, couples or coworkers in small groups. If you push tables together, you can make a bigger table too. The whole place is white-toned, so it feels clean.
There's also a small TV that actually shows the CCTV feed, and lots of people take selfies with it on their way out. It works as a bit of a photo spot.

Which fruits do the soufflés come with, and how do you order?
Think Fruit makes its soufflés with seasonal fruit, so the fruit changes with the seasons. When I visited, there were a strawberry soufflé and a peach soufflé. When you order, just tell the staff which seat you're sitting at.
Dessert makes you think of strawberries, right? So I ordered strawberry. It's peak peach season now, though, and I heard the peach soufflé cake is selling a lot. When I visited, they were running an event: a free Häagen-Dazs for writing a Naver receipt review, and ₩2,000 off for turning on Naver notifications. Keep that in mind if you're visiting!

What did I order at Think Fruit, and how much was it?
I ordered a strawberry soufflé for ₩21,000, an iced americano for ₩5,500 and an iced salt cream coffee for ₩7,500. They said the soufflé takes about 30 minutes, so I waited and got it together with the drinks.
- Strawberry soufflé ₩21,000
- Iced americano ₩5,500
- Iced salt cream coffee ₩7,500
Looking around the shop, the time passed quickly.

How were the americano and the salt cream coffee?
The americano at Think Fruit was nutty and went perfectly with dessert, and the salt cream coffee had a nutty, salty cream on top that gave it a savory depth. The coffees were bigger than I expected. Note that the salt cream coffee is iced only.

How does the strawberry soufflé at Think Fruit taste?
The strawberry soufflé at Think Fruit comes with three fluffy soufflés, fresh strawberries, Häagen-Dazs ice cream, smooth cream and strawberry crunch. The soufflés were cooked through to the middle, with almost no eggy smell, and tasted great.
Think Fruit is a premium fruit dessert café, and they say they buy fragrant, sweet fruit themselves, season by season. Maybe because the strawberry season was just past, the berries were a little small, but they were sweet and fresh, so still delicious. Fresh strawberries, Häagen-Dazs ice cream and smooth cream on top made a harmonious taste. It also comes with strawberry crunch, and the crunchy texture is fun.

Is it worth a 30-minute wait, and how many people does it feed?
The soufflé batter is whipped fresh in the shop after you order, so it takes about 30 minutes, but the taste was worth the wait, and I highly recommend it. I ate it alone, but it's the perfect amount for two.
The cake at Think Fruit, a top soufflé spot in Hongdae, was fluffy all the way through. It wasn't too sweet, so I enjoyed it. I had a lovely dessert at Think Fruit. I'll visit again next time~!
