Busan bar near Jagalchi Station Exit 3: Terra and Maedalgu, Budan
In short
Budan Nampo Branch (부단 남포점) is a Korean gastropub on Gwangbok-ro in Jung-gu, Busan, on the 2nd floor of the Miryang Pork & Rice Soup building near Jagalchi Station Exit 3. On a weeknight during a Busan trip, two of us took a window seat at Budan Nampo Branch and ordered the signature Maedalgu (a spicy-sweet grill of daechang intestines, Buldak noodles, chicken neck and cheese), Terra beer and a side of ramyeon cream rice. The softly lit atmosphere and the quality of the food were both satisfying, and a return visit to Budan Nampo Branch is a 100% yes.

Budan Nampo Branch (부단 남포점) is a cooking-style bar (yori-jujeom) on the 2nd floor of the Miryang Pork & Rice Soup building at 6 Gwangbok-ro, Jung-gu, Busan. It's close to Jagalchi Station Exit 3, so it was easy to find. I went on a Busan trip with my boyfriend and had a drink in Nampo-dong, and I found a total gem: the mood is out of this world and the food quality is amazing ◟( ˘ ³˘)◞ ♡

Here's the outside! Budan Nampo Branch is on the 2nd floor of Miryang Pork & Rice Soup, haha. The look of the place was really hip, which stuck with me!

What's on the menu board at Budan Nampo Branch's entrance?
There's a menu board at the entrance, so you can take your time looking it over before you go in. Cheese octopus and shrimp (Cheese Jjusaeu), tomato cheese waterfall boneless chicken thigh, mala cream udon with pork... don't the main dishes look amazing?!

I hadn't even gone inside and I was already agonizing over the menu, hahaha. Should we get the signature Cheese Jjusaeu, with cheese, baby octopus and shrimp, or Maedalgu, with beef intestines (daechang), Buldak noodles and chicken neck? I went into a full-on storm of indecision, hahaha.

What are the atmosphere and seating like at Budan Nampo Branch?
The inside is dark overall, but the soft lighting makes the mood really good, and the space is big and comfortable! A big company dinner was going on when we visited, haha. There were only two of us, so we took a window seat where we could see outside!!
It's kind of hip and classy at the same time!? Totally my taste!! The seats are spaced widely apart, too, so it was great for chatting with my boyfriend over a drink!!

How do you order at Budan Nampo Branch?
You order on the kiosk at each seat! We ended up going with Maedalgu!! Maedalgu stands for "spicy-sweet grill" (maekom-dalkom gui): beef intestines with Buldak noodles, chicken neck and a cheese bomb on top. It looked like the perfect snack for cold beer, so we ordered it, haha.
Besides the mains there were lots of sides (Chapagetti, ramyeon cream rice, egg soup and more), and since it's summer there were plenty of bingsu (shaved ice) options too!! By the way, isn't that Oreo bingsu so cute?! Haha (the square-shaped "hit by a beam" Oreo bingsu).

Complimentary snack: toasted bread with whipped cream
For the free starter, they gave us crispy grilled bread with whipped cream?! It tasted like the old Canmore dessert café from back in the day, and I loved it so much 😭

Budan's signature Maedalgu: how were the portion and taste?
Budan's signature Maedalgu was insane in both portion and quality!! It's perfect for anyone who thinks, "I want Buldak, I want beef intestines, I want chicken!!" It comes piled high on a wide pan, and there's a gas burner too, so you can eat it piping hot to the very end, haha.

If two people order Maedalgu, you'll eat until you're stuffed. The spicy Buldak goes so well with the slightly sweet, rich beef intestines, and wrapping it all up with chicken neck and Buldak cheese is just so good!!

First drink of a Busan trip: Terra beer with Maedalgu
I ordered Terra for the beer at Budan Nampo Branch, and I drank way too much that day (one can of beer usually gets me tipsy, but I drank two bottles, lol). The bottle was so cold the moment I grabbed it,, and the glass was chilled too, so the whole summer heat almost vanished.
Wow, my boyfriend pours so well, haha. We went on a weeknight evening, and more and more people kept coming in?! Budan Nampo Branch must be a hot spot, haha.

Cheers!! It was the first drink of our Busan trip, and it was so cold and sweet!! Eating it with the soft, flavorful beef intestines, the beer just kept going down!!

Is Budan's ramyeon cream rice worth ordering as a side?
The Maedalgu was so good that we added a side, the ramyeon cream rice!! The thick, rich cream and the spicy ramyeon go together so well that every single bite was delicious. I immediately understood why Budan is known for great bar food.
Budan Nampo Branch: final verdict
I'm drunk on the mood and the taste at Budan Nampo Branch!! There are lots of quality dishes, so the menu choices are wide, and the bingsu and sides that are great for summer were super tasty too! If friends say they're going to Busan, I'll definitely recommend it. 100% I'll come back, and I fully agree it's a top spot in Bupyeong-dong!!
