What I ordered at Hôtel de Couture this time was the house steak! It came medium to rare, so you can enjoy the natural flavor of the beef, with the outer surface cooked crisp like something fried.

Steak is one of those dishes that puts you in a good mood when you have it on a special day or a date. Steak made at home just can't help being different from restaurant steak. However good the meat is, it depends on the heat and how you cook it, and I think medium-rare is especially hard to pull off at home.

I think Hôtel de Couture might be the place where steak tastes best at medium to rare. Whenever I make it at home it just ends up tough, but the house steak here was the textbook medium-rare, letting you enjoy the real flavor of the beef.

On top of that, the outside of the meat was cooked crisp, a bit like fried food, which gave it a distinctive chew.

Pasta and risotto are great in Yeonnam-dong too, but if you want something a bit heartier and more special, the house steak is worth choosing. It also suits anyone who wants a meal centered on steak, or a romantic date with wine.
