Where is Sunhuine Bindaetteok Dak Hanmari Dongdaemun?
Sunhuine Bindaetteok Dak Hanmari Dongdaemun is located in the Dongdaemun dak hanmari (chicken hot pot) alley, a 7-minute walk from Exit 6 of Jongno 5(o)-ga Station. It's open daily from 10:30 to 22:30.
Now that the weather's turning cool and breezy in fall, I wanted to introduce a dak hanmari spot that's great to visit these days. This is my review of a Dongdaemun dak hanmari restaurant located right in the dak hanmari alley — Sunhuine Bindaetteok Dak Hanmari Dongdaemun, let's go‼️
With the weather cooling down and my body feeling a bit run down lately, I've really been craving something restorative — and dak hanmari kept popping into my head, so I headed to the Dongdaemun dak hanmari alley haha

A familiar name in the hot pot alley?! Sunhuine Bindaetteok is already a super famous spot in Gwangjang Market, so when I heard they'd opened a dak hanmari place, there was no way I wasn't going to check it out.

Inside: two floors with room for groups
📍Interior. The inside of Sunhuine Bindaetteok Dak Hanmari Dongdaemun is huge, spanning two floors, so it looked like a great fit for anything from a Dongdaemun dak hanmari lunch to a group gathering or company dinner.

It's a spacious hall that would also work well for tour groups or big dinner parties.

The walls were decorated with messages left by past customers, giving off a really strong retro vibe.

Menu and prices: dak hanmari and mung bean pancake
📋 Menu. True to being a dak hanmari specialty restaurant, dak hanmari was the main item, alongside various add-on sari (extra noodle/rice cake) options.

And since this is originally a famous bindaetteok (pancake) place, there was also a wide range of meat and seafood mung bean pancakes, meatballs, yukhoe (beef tartare), and more.

How to mix the dipping sauce, plus the review event
✔️ How to make the tasty dak hanmari sauce and eat it right. Even if you're new to dak hanmari, there were instructions on how to enjoy it properly, so I could just follow along haha

✔️ Naver and Google review event. Since there are a lot of international customers too, they're running a review event not just on Naver but on Google as well — join in and grab a free drink or beverage 👏

First up, the basic sauce ingredients and side dishes arrived‼️ These are the ingredients that go into the dak hanmari sauce — following the instructions from earlier, you mix up the sauce ahead of time.

Dipping the bindaetteok into the pickled onion soy sauce was a really great combo haha make sure you try it that way!!

What three of us ordered for ₩49,000, and how it tasted
📍Price: ₩49,000 total for 3 people
- ✔️ Dak hanmari ₩33,000
- ✔️ Knife-cut noodle sari ₩2,000
- ✔️ Meat mung bean pancake ₩12,000
- ✔️ Zero-sugar cola ₩2,000
The star dish, dak hanmari, finally arrived✨ Look how full that pot of chicken is, right?ㅎㅎ

The chicken came whole, but they cut it up into easy-to-eat pieces for us 👍

They started boiling it hard until the rice cakes cooked through — once the rice cakes float up, that's your cue to eat those first. Right after, the golden-brown mung bean pancake showed up too✨

Doesn't the bindaetteok look perfectly crispy and golden?🤤

Dipped in soy sauce, it was pure deliciousness. Definitely lives up to its reputation as a bindaetteok specialty spot.

Now shall we dig into the dak hanmari that's been boiling away?

True to a restorative dish, there was ginseng in there too, plus a hearty amount of jujube, napa cabbage, and other vegetables. I'm someone who believes the broth is what really matters in dak hanmari, and this broth was clean, refreshing, and deep in flavor — totally hit the spot 👍

Pick the chicken apart and dip it into the sauce we made earlier haha

Eating like this, the bindaetteok portion was also so generous that the three of us were already stuffed haha but we couldn't skip the knife-cut noodle sari at the end, right?

With the noodles added, the dak hanmari meal was complete 👏

For dessert, there was also a coffee vending machine set up☕️
