Korean restaurant in Daejeon with baby chairs, galbijjim: Idobonga

Today I'm reviewing Idobonga, located in Oryu-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon. I hope this post helps anyone looking for a good galbi restaurant in Daejeon 😌

Idobonga — a spot known for stone-grilled galbi, galbijjim (braised short ribs), and galbitang (short rib soup).

Where is Idobonga — right next to Seodaejeon Station

Idobonga, located in Jung-gu, Daejeon, is a Korean restaurant right next to Seodaejeon Station. I went with my husband and our 10-month-old baby to try their delicious galbijjim.

Being close to Seodaejeon Station, it felt like a really convenient location to find.

The atmosphere and the baby chairs

Idobonga has a spacious, open hall with lots of tables and high ceilings. Walking in, I noticed plenty of tables set up, giving the place a relaxed feel. The high ceilings made the space feel even bigger and more open.

When eating out with a baby, whether there are baby chairs matters just as much as the atmosphere haha. I was really glad to find two baby chairs at Idobonga. Being able to sit the baby in a chair while we ate made things so much easier. With so many tables and so much space, it also seemed like a great spot for a family meal. It could be a good option for anyone wanting to enjoy Korean food near Seodaejeon Station.

What we ordered — galbijjim (small) 45,000 won

Among Idobonga's various galbi menu items, I ordered the galbijjim (small) for 45,000 won. Rice was ordered separately 😋

While waiting for the main dish, the side dishes started arriving one by one. There were so many different banchan (side dishes) that just looking at them made me feel full haha. I love enjoying a variety of side dishes alongside the main dish at a Korean restaurant, and Idobonga was satisfying in that regard. Seeing the table fill up with such a generous spread made me want to dig in right away.

Being able to enjoy various side dishes alongside the galbijjim made for an even more filling meal.

This seems like a good place to visit on a day when you want a hearty meal centered around galbijjim. Especially when dining with family, the banchan spread matters just as much as the main dish. With so many side dishes served together, there was fun in picking and choosing what to eat.

Eating the galbijjim with rice and all the different side dishes made for a really filling meal haha.

This time I ordered galbijjim, but now I'm curious to try other menu items next time. It seemed like a menu lineup well suited to anyone wanting to enjoy a hearty Korean meal with family. If you like restaurants that serve a wide variety of side dishes, you'll probably have a satisfying meal here.

Final thoughts — how was it for a baby and family outing

Looking for somewhere to eat with a baby in Jung-gu, Daejeon, I visited Idobonga and found it a comfortable place to dine.

This time I ordered the small size galbijjim and enjoyed a delicious meal. I liked that the galbijjim came with so many different side dishes, making the table feel really generous.

Being able to enjoy a variety of side dishes made the meal even more satisfying. With two baby chairs available, I could sit the baby down and eat a bit more at ease.

If you want to enjoy Korean food with family near Seodaejeon Station in Jung-gu, Daejeon, Idobonga could be worth a visit.
