For my dad's birthday, after having a meal somewhere around Goyang, I went looking for a place nearby to have tea — a café with good coffee and dessert.

We took a window seat on Pine Terrace's second floor, and outside the window, vinyl greenhouses and low, gentle scenery stretched out beautifully — it was just so nice.

My parents kept saying how nice it was that you could enjoy this kind of quiet without having to travel far, right on the edge of the city.

We had good coffee and bread while chatting away, and since there was little of the murmuring echo or machine noise you get at big cafés, it was really easy to focus on each other's voices!

Best of all, the menu items we ordered at Pine Terrace completely won over both my parents and me. Cafés out on the edge of town with a great view often disappoint on the drinks or bakery side relative to the atmosphere, and just charge more for it — but here, neither the coffee nor the bread fell short in any way. Truly satisfying.

The warm Americano came out with a nutty aroma, and with its moderate body and clean finish it was perfect alongside dessert. The warm latte, topped with a dense layer of soft milk foam, was full of deep, nutty flavor — one sip and it felt like it warmed you right up inside.

Red bean bread (patppang)

What really lifted the coffee even further was the bread, baked with real care! The red bean bread was moist on the outside with plenty of sweet, nutty red bean filling inside — the natural sweetness filled my mouth and it was so satisfying!! My parents said it wasn't artificially sweet and was packed full inside, and finished it in no time.

Biscuit sesame rice bread

The biscuit sesame rice bread we picked alongside it was another treat. Underneath the crisp, sweet biscuit topping was the chewy texture unique to rice bread, blending together beautifully, and the more you chewed, the more the sesame's nutty flavor came through. A sip of warm latte with a bite of the nutty sesame rice bread was honestly the perfect pairing.

Light aircraft rides and animals behind Pine Terrace

On top of that, there are various ornamental chickens, peacocks, rabbits, sugar gliders, parrots and other animals you can see and interact with up close, making this one of the best Goyang cafés for family visitors with kids too.
