Konkuk Univ. rooftop café in June: Einspänner & mango cake, Café Ohkam
In short
Café Ohkam is a three-floor dessert café in a converted house in Gwangjin, Seoul, about a 3-minute walk from Konkuk Univ. Station Exit 2. In early June, the writer, a Konkuk Univ. local, had an Americano (₩4,800), an Einspänner (₩6,000) and a fresh mango cake (₩9,500) on Café Ohkam's rooftop terrace, where a breeze kept the heat away. Café Ohkam is a good Konkuk Univ. pick for rooftop seating and a not-too-sweet mango dessert before summer heat sets in.

Think of the 2nd floor as Café Ohkam's main space. It's spacious and full of tables. The front is all glass windows, so it doesn't feel stuffy at all.

Honest review of what I ate at Café Ohkam
What I tried at Café Ohkam: an Americano, an Einspänner (coffee topped with cream) and fresh mango cake! I wondered about getting the mango bingsu, but that day I was craving cake more than shaved ice, so I had the mango cake instead. Café Ohkam is also famous as a bingsu spot in Konkuk Univ., so if you get the chance, definitely try the bingsu!

Einspänner ₩6,000: even my sweet-averse companion kept sipping
Café Ohkam's Einspänner (₩6,000) was even better than I expected. My companion doesn't like sweet things and says they only drink Americanos, but after one sip of the Einspänner they just kept drinking it.
It isn't too sweet, and the bitterness of the Americano and the cream blend together just right. A really tasty Einspänner.

Americano ₩4,800: clean and easygoing
Café Ohkam's Americano (₩4,800) was a very clean style. Not too bitter, not too acidic, and not weak either. Just clean and easy to drink without any fuss.

Fresh mango cake ₩9,500: packed with mango, cream that isn't too sweet
Café Ohkam's fresh mango cake (₩9,500) is absolutely packed with mango. Big chunks of mango, loads of them. And first of all, it isn't too sweet!
The cream isn't overly sweet and the sweet mango comes in big pieces, so you can eat it without getting tired of it. They seem to use good cream and good-quality mango, and the taste felt upscale, so I was satisfied.

Why I recommend Café Ohkam as a Konkuk Univ. dessert café
If you're looking for a dessert spot among Konkuk Univ.'s eateries, don't hesitate and visit Café Ohkam! Especially drinking good coffee and drinks on the rooftop outdoor terrace gives your mood a big upgrade.
