Wangsimni dessert café: Portuguese egg tart and rosemary tea, Eojil In
In short
Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is a two-floor dessert café right in front of Exit 6 of Wangsimni Station in Seongdong, Seoul. On a day when the café was almost full, the writer paired an iced Americano and a rosemary tea with a Portuguese-style egg tart and a Basque cheesecake. The verdict: the Eojil In egg tart is a classic, crisp outside and soft inside, and is highly recommended alongside coffee.

Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch: interior and seating

The café is split across floors 1 and 2, and it was a nice place to rest for a bit over coffee and dessert. When you visit a café, the atmosphere matters as much as the menu, right?

It was a good café for taking a short break with coffee and desserts.

Floors 1 and 2 have quite a lot of seats, but the day I went it was almost full. When seats are scarce, the staff tell you to check for a seat before you order.
Eojil In drinks menu and dessert selection

The drink menu has coffee, tea and latte options. The dessert lineup can differ from day to day, but I photographed everything available the day I went: madeleines, financiers, egg tarts, cheesecake and more.

How are the iced Americano and rosemary tea at Eojil In?

For drinks I ordered an iced Americano and rosemary tea. An iced Americano that goes well with dessert is a café must, of course, haha. It has a nutty, savory coffee flavor, so I think anyone would like it.

The rosemary tea I ordered along with it is a great pick if you'd like tea instead of coffee. I'd already had a few cups of coffee that day, so I went for tea, and I liked that Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch has lots of tea choices. The rosemary tea isn't sweet and has a strong, rich flavor, so it was totally my taste.
Eojil In egg tart and Basque cheesecake

The desserts I chose that day were an egg tart and Basque cheesecake!

Portuguese egg tart at Eojil In: one per person
I really love egg tarts, and Portuguese-style ones are the tastiest. Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch had one right there, so we went one egg tart per person.

It's crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, a perfectly classic taste.

If you can't decide what to eat, it's a dessert that pairs well with coffee, so I highly recommend it.

Eojil In Basque cheesecake: lightly sweet
The Basque cheesecake is slightly sweet, with a different charm from the egg tart.

Personally, when I go to a café I tend to order a dessert too rather than just a drink. Sipping coffee with a dessert is a small thing, but it really lifts my mood.

It was so good it vanished in no time ^_^ I enjoyed a little breather with sweet desserts and drinks.
