We stopped by Han's Kitchen, a takeout sashimi spot at Sokcho Jungang Market. To be honest, my husband and I don't really eat raw fish much, but we absolutely love maeuntang. We're in Sokcho, after all! So we got sashimi to go, added the stew, and took it all back to our lodging. Off we went!

What's in the takeout set: how much stew fish and wrap greens do you get?

Everything was packed carefully, and I was surprised by how much stew fish there was. Ta-da, pickup done!! Our daughter has been wanting to stay in lately.. haha. No eating out!! So we decided to eat at our lodging.

Ta-da! They gave us three generous packs of stew seasoning, and the fish looks fresh. At a glance it might look small, but for my husband and me it was a huge amount~ hehe. They also packed plenty of wrap greens, and the bean sprouts were piled in.

How fresh and tasty are the rockfish and flounder at Han's Kitchen?

The sashimi was really fresh. Han's Kitchen is the place for takeout sashimi at Sokcho Jungang Market! The reviews were so good that my expectations were high!!! The slices were a good thickness, the portion was right, and the stew was perfect too.

What I cared about most while looking for a good takeout sashimi place in Sokcho Jungang Market was freshness, of course!! Rockfish and flounder were an excellent choice.

Han's Kitchen rockfish and flounder sashimi

I know rockfish has a chewy yet clean texture, and flounder is a great sashimi fish thanks to its clean, firm bite! Ordering both meant two different textures, which was nice haha.

Taking the sashimi out piece by piece, it felt even fresher and tastier, maybe because we were eating it on a trip. The atmosphere is so good too~>_<

Is the maeuntang add-on worth it at Han's Kitchen?

For an extra ₩6,000, the stew had a huge amount of fish meat, and the broth was cool and spicy. Another thing I was really happy with was this stew. It's totally my style..??? T_T Bean sprouts packed in, green onions packed in.

If you get takeout sashimi, you have to add the stew!! If you're planning a Sokcho trip and want to eat sashimi comfortably at your lodging, definitely try Han's Kitchen, a great takeout sashimi spot at Sokcho Jungang Market.

Lodging dinner made with Han's Kitchen takeout

A lodging dinner spread with Sokcho Jungang Market snacks

We added dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken), kkoma gimbap (mini seaweed rice rolls) and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) from Sokcho Jungang Market to the Han's Kitchen sashimi and laid out a full spread at our lodging. We browsed all sorts of things in the market besides fish and brought back the chicken!! I also got the mini gimbap and tteokbokki that my kid loves. Feeling great, I tell you.

A somaek (soju-and-beer mix) for the first time in a while. And they sliced chili peppers and garlic and put them on both sides of the plate, so thoughtful.. T_T

They cut back on unnecessary packaging and piled the sashimi on thick, so I was super satisfied. The table is practically breaking under all this food.

Especially ordering rockfish and flounder together, as we did, and adding the stew meant we could have a comfortable meal without going to a restaurant, so it was a very satisfying dinner. Dinner in Sokcho was so good!
