Sinchon burger lunch: double-patty Greed Burger at Bas Burger

This time I stopped by Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch for a quick lunch in Sinchon. I really just meant to grab a burger and go, but then I saw one item on the menu with a name that stood out right away, haha.

Yep, the Greed Burger! I wondered just how much they pile into it to deserve that name, so in the end I ordered it.

What is Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch like?

Bas Burger is a handmade burger restaurant that works well when you want lunch or a quick meal in Sinchon, haha. If you have a hospital appointment or errands around Sinchon and need to eat fast, a burger is definitely convenient, lol.

Inside, the mood was casual overall, so eating alone looked easy enough. The menu had a lot more burger varieties than I expected, haha.

What are the Bas Burger menu and set prices?

The menu runs from the Sriracha Cheeseburger to the Bas Burger, Double Bacon Cheeseburger, Wasabi Mayo Shrimp Burger, Mushroom Burger and the Greed Burger, lots of names that make you curious, lol. A set costs ₩3,900 extra and adds fries and a drink.

That's what I got, haha. The set came with cola and fries.

What goes into the Greed Burger?

The Greed Burger had the most striking name, so I was most excited for it and ate it first. My first thought when it arrived: they named it well, lol.

The ingredients alone are huge. There are 2 beef patties, 2 slices of cheddar, plus a fried egg and bacon, haha.

And that's not all: it also has grilled onion and raw onion, lettuce, tomato, pickle relish, Bas house sauce and red pepper, lol. Basically it felt like they put in nearly everything you can put in a burger. Ahh... so that's why it's the Greed Burger, lol.

How did the Greed Burger taste?

Picking it up, it was so thick that it wasn't easy to take a proper bite, haha. The savory patty, salty bacon and soft egg all hit at once, and even with so many ingredients nothing felt like it was clashing. The sauce in particular leans sweet and salty, the kind Koreans tend to like, so it suited my taste quite well, lol.

Personally, I didn't think it fell far behind Shake Shack, which I usually like. If anything, if you like burgers loaded with toppings, you might be even happier with the Greed Burger, haha.

What does the Sriracha Cheeseburger taste like?

The Sriracha Cheeseburger (₩7,300) was an unexpected dark horse. I ordered it without big expectations, lol, but it turned out better than I thought. It has that rich, savory cheeseburger flavor, and the sriracha sauce gives a slightly spicy finish that cut the greasiness, haha.

When you eat a burger with lots of cheese, you sometimes get tired of it halfway through, but the spiciness of the Sriracha Cheeseburger keeps your appetite going, lol. The price is also easier on the wallet than the Greed Burger, so for a light meal the Sriracha Cheeseburger was actually the better pick.

Are the fries and potato chips good too?

The fries that came with the set were also quite tasty when eaten hot, freshly fried, haha. Slightly crisp outside and soft inside, and dipped in ketchup they disappeared fast, lol.

There was one more thing I personally liked about Bas Burger: you can have potato chips. With crunchy chips on the side, even a burger meal ended up pretty filling, haha. I went in thinking I'd just grab a quick lunch, and I came out more satisfied than expected from Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch, lol.

Is Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch worth going back to?

The Greed Burger isn't just a quirky name; it really is loaded with generous toppings, so it's worth trying once. The Sriracha Cheeseburger was also good for the price, and I was happy with the fries too, haha. Handmade burger prices aren't cheap these days, so I liked that depending on what you pick, you can eat here without too much of a burden.

Next time I crave a burger in Sinchon, I think I'll come to Bas Burger often, lol. If you like thick burgers packed with fillings, give the Greed Burger a try, haha.
