Today I'm introducing a spot with old-world charm I found while driving along the Bukhangang riverside in Namyangju — Waltz and Dr. Mahn.

But this place isn't just big — the moment you step in, you're pulled into an aura and antique charm that's all its own. If you're looking for an atmospheric river-view café for a date near Dumulmeori, I really want to recommend this one! 💕

Is parking easy at Waltz and Dr. Mahn?

Waltz and Dr. Mahn has a very spacious, well-kept parking lot, so I could relax without any parking worries 🚗💨 Parking is the biggest concern when you're driving there, and this place passes with flying colors!

The red-brick exterior already has a stylish feel, and stepping inside, you're greeted by a long-standing, antique interior.

Traces of age show tastefully throughout, giving off a real sense of antique refinement. It's such a photogenic place that I could immediately see why it's famous as a date spot! 📸✨

Pretty cups, gorgeous visuals — what we ordered

Waltz and Dr. Mahn has so many coffee options it was hard to choose, so we went with the signature menu items served in beautiful classic cups and dishes!

1️⃣ House Blend ☕

This is Waltz and Dr. Mahn's signature hand-drip coffee. The balance of moderate body and clean flavor is really excellent — the moment you take a sip from the antique cup, a rich aroma fills your mouth. The coffee's own aroma was so good I didn't even add the sugar, but honestly, how is even the coffee sugar this pretty? It's served in a beautiful cup along with a spoon.

2️⃣ Honor and Cheval 🍨

A total visual showstopper — rich, nutty Dutch coffee blended with smooth milk and sweet vanilla ice cream! On top there are colorful macarons and fresh seasonal fruit, making it a special dessert drink that's fun to look at and to eat at the same time.

3️⃣ Opera Cake 🍫

A classic French dessert layered with coffee, chocolate, ganache, and buttercream. Its rich, sweet flavor paired perfectly with the bitter, clean house blend coffee!

There's a pamphlet placed on the table at Waltz and Dr. Mahn, and it turns out it tells the story of the café's history and coffee. I sat down and read it closely.

Reading it, I couldn't help but think, 'Ah, the owner really put their heart into this coffee and this space.' Knowing the backstory makes the space so much more appealing, so I highly recommend giving it a read! 👍

By the way, this isn't just a café — it also runs a coffee museum, and there's a regular concert held on the last Friday of every month 🎻🎵 They also run course meal service, so it's a great spot to visit for a birthday or anniversary when you want a special atmosphere!

Honestly, Waltz and Dr. Mahn is on the pricier side, but after experiencing the open Bukhangang river view through the windows, the deep atmosphere of the space, and the kind, refined service, I felt it wasn't a waste at all and was very satisfied 😊❤️
