I stopped by Jongjong Yukhoe on my way out for a vacation trip. Heading toward Yangpyeong always makes me think of good food. I was getting tired of just grilled meat, so this time I was craving something fresh, and went for it. The entrance was so clean it put me in a good mood right away, haha.

What are the interior and seating like at Seojong Yukhoe?

Stepping inside, the interior was really clean. The tables were also spaced out generously.

It's not a private room, but there were spots that had a bit of that room-like feel, which made it comfortable. Perfect for a quiet meal with family. Amazing!

It's a popular place, so there can be a wait. Once you arrive, staff kindly guide you to your seat.

As soon as you arrive, you head to the kiosk to order. The staff are really kind, so you feel well taken care of, haha.
Seojong Yukhoe menu: yukhoe, sashimi and galbitang
The Jongjong Yukhoe menu ranges from basic yukhoe (beef tartare) to sashimi and galbitang (short rib soup). The prices are quite reasonable for the quality.

Looking at the menu, I wanted to try everything. After some deliberation, I picked a solid handful and finished ordering. Wow!
1++ Majang-dong hanwoo beef tartare mixed with raw egg

This is a yukhoe that makes you gasp just from the look of it. Because it's 1++ grade from Majang-dong, the color is on another level. The tender meat comes topped with sesame seeds and minced garlic, alongside julienned pear and sprouts.
On top of that comes a raw egg, which I cracked right over it and mixed in with the yukhoe.

Wow, being unfrozen 1++ (two-plus) grade hanwoo raw beef, the texture was truly tender.

The more you chew, the more a savory flavor spreads through your mouth — it was insane. Wrapped up in gim (seaweed) with octopus and sprouts, it was so harmonious and bursting with umami in the mouth.
Galbitang broth simmered with hwanggi (astragalus root)

I wanted some hot broth, so I ordered the galbitang too.

With astragalus root added, the broth was very rich and deep.
There was also plenty of meat in it, perfect to eat with rice.
I polished off a whole bowl of rice without even noticing, haha.
Side dishes and overall verdict on Seojong Yukhoe

Right to the end, the portions were generous, each side dish was neat and well-made, and the taste was perfect. Since the meat was top grade too, there wasn't a hint of gaminess — clean and thoroughly satisfying.

For this quality, the value for money is really excellent. More than enough for a hearty meal.
Is Seojong Yukhoe a good stop on a Munho-ri drive?

It's perfect to visit with beloved family during events like the Seojong Bukhangang Sunset Festival, or while out on a trip near Seoul. It's also a great drive-and-date course for couples. If you want a mood lift with delicious Korean food, stop by. The overall hygiene and service were good enough to bring kids or your parents along without hesitation. You could feel the attention to even the small details, which made for an enjoyable meal the whole time I was there.
I fell for the taste of the fresh meat and already want to go back. I hope you all make a trip there this weekend too!
