In short
Rosetta is a European vintage-style cocktail bar on Eoulmadang-ro between Hapjeong Station and Sangsu Station in Mapo, Seoul, serving signature cocktails inspired by famous paintings. The writer and their partner sat at a regular table, shared pumpkin cream gnocchi, and ranked four cocktails (Summer Sunlight, Madame X, Ramos Gin Fizz and Jack Rose) for a palate that likes drinks slightly sweet. Where is Rosetta in Hapjeong, and when is it open?
Rosetta (로제타) is a cocktail bar at 35 Eoulmadang-ro 5-gil, 1st floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul, a 6-minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 3 and 7 minutes from Sangsu Station Exit 1. It's open daily from 18:00 until 5:00 the next morning. I went not long ago with my partner and completely fell for it. It feels like a hidden gem in Hapjeong, and lately it's been blowing up on Instagram and blogs as a date course and a cheat code for blind dates. It's a Hapjeong wine bar vibe, honestly!

The exterior and interior were so pretty that I walked in full of expectations, and the inside is romantic too. The second I opened the door, I understood why it has a reputation as a blind-date hotspot 🥰 The lighting is soft and lovely, the kind that makes your face look good ☺️ haha.
What are Rosetta's interior and seating like?
Inside, Rosetta is decorated in a classic yet cute European vintage style.

Seating is split into classy bar counter seats, where you can watch the bartenders make cocktails with care, and regular tables that are good for cozy conversation. This time I wanted to chat comfortably, so I took a regular table!

Every table has a pretty candle lit, so even casual photos come out classy and full of mood. Next time, if I come for a solo drink or want to feel a bit more special, I think sitting at the bar and watching the cocktails being made would be so much fun!!
What's on Rosetta's menu?
Once you sit down, Rosetta brings you two menus.

The one on the left is Rosetta's signature cocktail menu. On the right, you'll find lots of tasty snacks and an even wider range of drinks.

Rosetta's free tofu crackers and pumpkin cream gnocchi
After you order, Rosetta brings water and a crunchy, nutty tofu cracker as the complimentary snack. I didn't expect much from a freebie, but it's sneakily addictive and I kept reaching for more! It isn't strongly flavored, so it pairs lightly with cocktails, and it somehow felt healthy 😆 so it was easy to enjoy. Then the main dish we ordered, the pumpkin cream gnocchi, arrived,

Doesn't it look like art? The pumpkin cream gnocchi comes beautifully plated: round, nicely seared gnocchi on a rich, yellow pumpkin cream base. I scooped up plenty of cream with a spoon and took a bite with the gnocchi, and it was honestly the kind of flavor that makes you gasp! ㅠㅠㅠ🤤🤤🤤
The gnocchi is chewy outside and soft inside, and it goes wonderfully with the sweet, smooth pumpkin cream sauce. (The sauce... I scraped the plate clean with my spoon, hahaha;;) It was good enough to call Rosetta a gnocchi hotspot, so if you go, I highly recommend this dish! haha.
Rosetta's painting-inspired cocktails: four drinks ranked by a sweet-drink fan
Rosetta's biggest draw is that you can try signature cocktails inspired by famous paintings. Just reading the menu feels like reading a work of art.

If a drink is only sweet, it feels like a soft drink and I'm let down, but drinks with a bitter alcohol taste are still a bit hard for me! So based on my taste, which is slightly sweet but with the alcohol pleasantly present, here's my subjective ranking and honest review of the four drinks I had that day 🤗 We first ordered Summer Sunlight and Jack Rose, but they were so good and we were so drunk on the atmosphere that we added Madame X and Ramos Gin Fizz, four glasses in total!

🏆 1st: Summer Sunlight
My number one pick was definitely Summer Sunlight! It's a cocktail that blends tangy yuzu and lemongrass with the sweetness of Korean pear and the freshness of soda. It's slightly sweet, with the alcohol balanced just right, so it suited my taste perfectly. It's garnished with seasoned seaweed on top of the glass, which looks really unique and reminded me of a blue summer sea 🩵
🥈 2nd: Madame X
If you asked me for the most special and unusual one, it's definitely Madame X. It's a wine cocktail with the sweetness of a ruby port base and an appealing oak aroma, and after pouring it into the glass, the bartender sprays an "edible perfume" right there as a little performance!
Watching the performance unfold in front of me was fun, and it was my first time encountering edible perfume, so it felt so novel. Thanks to the rose and hibiscus scent lingering at the tip of my nose, it was a classy cocktail that made me feel pampered the whole time I drank it 🌹
🥉 3rd: Ramos Gin Fizz
The Ramos Gin Fizz grabbed my eye from the look alone, and the texture was amazing! It's not a watery liquid; it has a fluffy, creamy texture like a soft yogurt shake. The slight sourness, subtle sweetness and the gin's bittersweet edge spread across your mouth smoothly and in harmony. A well-made drink 💛
🏅 4th: Jack Rose
Jack Rose is a classic cocktail where the drink's own bitterness and heaviness came through the strongest of the four that day. I'm a sweet-drink lightweight 🤣 haha, so I sadly put it fourth, but for seasoned drinkers who enjoy the aroma of alcohol, or anyone who wants to feel the deep, traditional charm of whiskey, it's a great glass I'd actually recommend 🖤
Is Rosetta's restroom clean?
Rosetta's restroom is kept very tidy and pleasant, and the women's restroom even has a clear acrylic box of amenities. A lot of you care about restroom hygiene and facilities when going to a bar, right? At Rosetta, even the restroom was impressive ❤️🫶🫰

Not only is it kept very clean and pleasant, there's also a thoughtful clear acrylic box set up on one side of the women's restroom.

- Cleansing water
- Moisturizing hand cream
- Mouthwash
- Fabric softener spray
- Cotton swabs
- Cotton pads
- Emergency feminine products
It was stocked so carefully that there was practically nothing missing. The consideration and detail for customers stood out, and I marveled again, "Of course, there's a reason this place is famous for dates and blind dates." 😘
Who is Rosetta in Hapjeong good for?
If you're looking near Hapjeong Station for a calm, atmospheric place to enjoy high-quality cocktails and tasty snacks, I'd recommend Rosetta without hesitation. Whether it's an anniversary date with your partner, a confession or a blind date, you'll definitely get compliments for having good taste! I'm planning to go back soon to work through the other painting cocktails. 💖💖💖
