Sangju flower nursery café with a greenhouse walk: Kkotgeureut
In short
Kkotgeureut (꽃그릇) is a flower nursery and plant café in Nakdong-myeon, Sangju, Gyeongbuk, where visitors can browse and buy pots and plants in a café building and a large greenhouse. The writer looked around the café's shelves of clay pots and ceramic planters, walked through the botanical-garden-like greenhouse, and drank beet juice and wild ginseng extract tea. Kkotgeureut in Sangju is more than a coffee stop: it is a relaxing outing for looking at plants, buying them and taking a break.

What is Kkotgeureut in Sangju like?
Kkotgeureut (꽃그릇) is a flower nursery café that has become famous by word of mouth as a Sangju plant café. There's a café building and a greenhouse building, so you can look around at the pots and buy plants too 🌸 Today I'm bringing you the story of a really special place I visited!

"Wildflower café in Sangju" is exactly the right description. I'd only seen it in photos, but in person it was better than I expected!
Kkotgeureut exterior and entrance
When you arrive by GPS, the first things you notice are the yellow pillar and the round wooden sign.

The name Kkotgeureut is carved right into the wood grain, which gives off a rustic, sentimental feel. The building is a low, small single story, with a long deck out front lined with row after row of pots, so the exterior itself looks like a garden.

There's also a green bench that says "Coffee time," a perfect spot to sit and take photos. A stone path runs beside the building, and you can see a huge greenhouse behind it, which really raises the anticipation.

Even the arched iron gate has vines climbing it, which gives it a really romantic mood.

Kkotgeureut café space: a place to rest while browsing clay pots and vases
The space at Kkotgeureut is split into two main parts: the café with its plant-selling area, and the large greenhouse!

The café has a wooden ceiling with stained-glass lamps hanging from it, so it feels warm and cozy.

You can see the garden right through the windows, and there are flowers on the tables too, so just sitting there feels healing.
Inside the café, the walls are filled with all kinds of clay pots and ceramic vases, so browsing while you drink is half the fun. There's a really wide variety of sizes and types, and I think plant lovers' eyes will go round.
With warm light falling from the wooden ceiling, it felt a bit like a gallery and a bit like a vintage trinket shop, and wandering around was a real pleasure!
How big is the Kkotgeureut greenhouse?
The highlight of Kkotgeureut is, of course, the large greenhouse. You walk along a stone path between ceiling-high trees and hanging pots, looking at flowers.

The moment you step in, the scale is so huge you can't help saying "wow." There are trees that reach the ceiling, pots dangling from above, and you can stroll the stone path looking at the flowers.
True to a Sangju wildflower café, it's packed with all kinds of plants, and it feels like walking through a botanical garden 🌺

There are benches inside the greenhouse too, so you can even have a drink surrounded by plants ☕

Kkotgeureut drink menu: how do the beet juice and wild ginseng tea taste?
At Kkotgeureut I ordered the beet juice and the wild ginseng extract tea.

The drink menu at Kkotgeureut is a bit different from an ordinary café. Lots of the drinks have a healthy feel, and I picked the beet juice and the wild ginseng extract tea!
Beet juice
The deep burgundy color of the beet juice is so pretty, perfect for photos. It has beet's typical sweetness with a faint earthy aroma, but it was easier to drink than I expected and felt gentle on the stomach. It came cold so I could drink it nice and chilled, and the color is so pretty that shooting it against a plant background makes a perfect mood shot 💕

Wild ginseng extract tea
The wild ginseng extract tea came in a glass teacup, and a faint fragrance rose up first.

It tastes warm and smooth, ideal for sitting down for a moment while touring the greenhouse. The deep, rich aroma typical of wild ginseng rises softly and it warms you up. Being able to drink wild ginseng tea at a café is itself something special about Kkotgeureut.

They set potted flowers in bloom next to the table, so photos with the drinks, flowers and teacups together come out really pretty 🌸
Who is Kkotgeureut in Sangju for?

True to its title as a Sangju wildflower café, a greenhouse full of all kinds of plants welcomes visitors. I strongly recommend it to plant lovers, anyone who wants mood photos, and anyone after a quiet, healing outing.
