Gyeongui Line Forest Park café: pulpy mango orange juice, Ieo Coffee
In short
Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is a roastery café in Mapo, Seoul, near Gyeongui Line Forest Park and within walking distance of Gongdeok Station. On a walk along the park, the writer had nutty, well-balanced coffee, while a pregnant companion kept praising the mango orange juice, which has real fruit pulp you can chew. The weather has been so nice lately that I keep walking along Gyeongui Line Forest Park. Just walking felt like a waste, so I looked for a café with a good atmosphere and ended up at Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch (이어커피로스터스 공덕점). I thought it would be just a pretty café, but the space was so comfortable and the coffee so good that I immediately understood why it has so many regulars. Everyone I went with was happy, so let me introduce it in detail today!

A café that fits perfectly into a Gyeongui Line Forest Park walk

It is an easy walk from Gongdeok Station and close to Gyeongui Line Forest Park, so it was a really good spot to combine with a stroll. You can walk over lightly after a meal, then keep strolling after a cup of coffee. The route is so neat that I'd recommend it as a date course too.

There are lots of pretty cafés along Gyeongui Line Forest Park these days, but Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch clearly felt quiet and soulful. It has a different charm from the crowded franchise cafés, which made me like it even more. The calm mood starts at the entrance, and your feet just naturally head inside.
What is the atmosphere at Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch like?

It is a café with a plain, comfortable feel, and the warmth was the first thing I noticed when I walked in. The space isn't filled with over-the-top decor but with a natural mood, which made me want to stay for a long time.

With soft music playing and gentle lighting, it was a great atmosphere for chatting or for spending time alone. The tables are spaced well, so you aren't too close to the next seat, and the relaxed feel overall made me even happier.

At the window seats the sunlight comes in beautifully, which is great for photos and the best place to rest with a cup of coffee. Thanks to this mood, I could see why so many people visit this café, haha.

It is quiet but not too still, which made it a café where I actually wanted to linger. Lots of cafés these days are pretty in photos but uncomfortable, but here the chairs are comfy and the tables roomy, so it was really good for resting.

I thought it was the perfect space to relax with a cup of coffee.

How is the coffee at Ieo Coffee Roasters?

The coffee at Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch was clean-tasting, not overly acidic, with a nutty flavor that lingers gently. True to the name "roasters," you can feel their sincerity about coffee. Even the aroma of the beans was clearly different, and the clean taste stayed with me long after the first sip.

It isn't just strong bitterness; the aroma and balance are really good, so even I, someone who normally loves coffee, was satisfied. The acidity isn't excessive and the nutty flavor trails on softly, so it was easy to drink.

It felt like a place that takes care with its beans, and maybe because of that I was in a good mood the whole time I drank. If you usually enjoy coffee, I think you'll be satisfied. Good coffee is what makes you come back, and here I actually felt like revisiting!!
The mango orange juice my pregnant companion chose

The mango orange juice at Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is a non-coffee drink with real fruit pulp, so the chewy texture really comes through. One of my companions this time was pregnant, so she ordered the mango orange juice instead of coffee. Honestly, juice at cafés often just tastes of syrup, but this was completely different. From the first sip you taste the fresh mango and orange, and above all, everyone was surprised that it had real fruit pulp.

The chewy texture was so present that it felt like drinking fresh fruit. My pregnant companion kept saying how delicious it was, so satisfaction was high, haha. I also liked that there's a drink that people who can't have coffee, or those visiting with kids, can enjoy without worry. You can feel the café's care in small details like this, haha.
Why I recommend Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch

Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch didn't fall short in any area: space, atmosphere, coffee or drinks. It's great for a break during a Gyeongui Line Forest Park walk and suits a date course really well.

Above all, the comfortable mood meant staying a long time never felt awkward, and the quality of the coffee and drinks was satisfying, so it's a café I want to visit again. If you're looking for a soulful café near Gyeongui Line Forest Park, I recommend giving Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch a visit :)
