Gongdeok café with platform outdoor seats and lemon cake: Ieo Coffee
In short
Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is a white-toned roastery café in Mapo, Seoul, between Gongdeok Station and Daeheung Station near Gyeongui Line Forest Park. On a weekday afternoon the writer had the house-baked lemon cake (6,000 won) and a nutty iced latte (4,800 won), and liked the moist lemon-syrup cake, the platform-style outdoor seats and the laptop-friendly seating. Ieo Coffee Roasters is a good place to rest with a bright dessert and a latte before or after a walk on Gyeongui Line Forest Park.

Where is Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch, and what about the outdoor seats?

Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch sits between Gongdeok Station and Daeheung Station, and outside there are seats where you can sit like on a platform bench (pyeongsang). The exterior is so neat and I loved it! The lush green plants outside suit the café so well, too.
The outdoor platform seats especially look great for a coffee in the cool breeze when the weather is nice! (Zoning out while drinking coffee would be so good, right??)

Does Ieo Coffee Roasters bake its own desserts?
From cookies to cakes, it seemed like everything is baked in the shop. I was torn between the Basque cheesecake and the lemon cake (₩6,000), and picked the lemon cake. The moment you walk in, a delicious baking smell wafts over~ (Places that bake their own are the real deal, you know??)
They looked so good that I really agonized between the Basque cheesecake and the lemon cake, but today I somehow craved something zesty, so I ordered the lemon cake. I wanted to try the cookies too, but they were being baked when I walked in, so sadly the cookies are for next time…! (The cookie smell is insane haha, I have to try them!)

Interior and seating at Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch
The inside is done in white tones, with seats ranging from terrace-style ones to seats great for chatting with friends. It gives you an instant "clean, right?" feeling! It's exactly the kind of interior I really like~ (Isn't it so pretty?) I also loved the variety of seating! (Kudos to the owner's sense!!)
Is it dog-friendly, and can you buy beans?
Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch seems to be dog-friendly! There was a cute dog when I visited, and I guess many people come here after walking Gyeongui Line Forest Park~ They also sell coffee beans! The coffee is good, so taking some beans home would be nice too!

What is the signature menu at Ieo Coffee Roasters?
The signature is the almond latte, said to use handmade almond milk made through a 12-hour process. It's got to be good, no doubt! I was super curious, but since I was having it with lemon cake, I craved a cleaner iced latte (₩4,800) haha. Next time I'll definitely try the signature!!
The menu has lots of variety~ There were many unusual items; the plum granita sounded so tasty, and I was curious about the basil tomato too~ (By the way, the cat on the tissue was so cute that I had to snap it…) You can feel the owner's sense everywhere!!

How do the lemon cake and iced latte taste?
The iced latte was nutty and so good, and the lemon cake came with something like lemon syrup(?) drizzled under the cake. It's really zesty! And the cake itself was moist and soft, so so good!
If you're on the zesty side, definitely order the lemon cake, and if you're not (?), the Basque cheesecake would be just right haha.

Is Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch crowded? Can you work on a laptop?
When I visited in the afternoon, people kept coming in after I sat down, and the café filled up fast. It's so full of atmosphere that I took a photo~ It opens early in the morning, so I think many people stop by on their way to work, and many also drop in after walking nearby Gyeongui Line Forest Park!

Oh, and Ieo Coffee Roasters is also a great place to bring your laptop and work~ It's so comfortable to sit with a cup of coffee that I plan to come back next time I'm around Gongdeok!!
