Dry, Split Hair: Why I Chose the Ayunchae Clinic

My ends were split and dry, so I got the Ayunchae clinic at Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch, a hair salon in Sangwangsimni. Lately my ends were so dry and split that my comb kept snagging. I'd tried all sorts of treatments and kept up with hair masks, but home care felt like it had its limits…🥲

So I figured it was time for a proper hair clinic after a long while, and I went to Oreudeubi in Sangwangsimni. Honestly, I've always liked Ayunchae clinics and used to get them often. If you're into hair you've probably heard of the brand: Ayunchae is Amorepacific's premium hair brand made for salons.

Its products, which balance moisture, protein and oil to match your hair's condition, are so well known that lots of salons use them, and the price is decent for the results, so Ayunchae is my go-to for clinics. The line is used a lot for damaged hair and hair left dry by frequent dyeing or perms, so I went in trusting it.
Oreudeubi Ayunchae Clinic Price and First-Visit Discount
The Ayunchae clinic at Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch is ₩150,000 at regular price, but with 30% off for a first visit I got it for ₩105,000. The length add-on is separate, so with collarbone-length hair I paid ₩20,000 extra on site. Booking was easy through Naver.
I spotted this while browsing the booking page: a new designer has joined Oreudeubi, and there's a 20% off cut event too. So many salons exclude cuts from discounts, so a cut discount is seriously huge!! But this time my hair quality was more urgent than a haircut…🤣 so I skipped the cut and booked only the clinic. The clinic had a first-visit deal.

The Ayunchae clinic is normally ₩150,000, but with 30% off I got it for ₩105,000. The length add-on is separate, of course! My hair is about collarbone length, so there was a ₩20,000 add-on that I paid on site. For reference, the add-on is ₩10,000 for shoulder length and ₩20,000 for collarbone length, so keep that in mind if you're booking.
How to Get to Oreudeubi from Sangwangsimni Station
Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch is within walking distance of Sangwangsimni Station, and you can see the Oreudeubi sign from across the crosswalk, so it wasn't hard to find.

That said, the Centras complex itself is pretty big, so first-timers might get a little confused. Oreudeubi is in Unit 118.

The building directory makes it much easier to understand! Just go straight in and you'll see it right away on the left, so I found it more easily than I expected.

The staff greeted me warmly right away, so the first impression was great🤍
How Does the 1:1 Consultation at Oreudeubi Work?
At Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch, you fill out a consultation form before the treatment, and the designer touches your hair and explains its condition. There was no pushy upselling to a pricier clinic at all.
When I gave my reservation name, I filled out a consultation form first. It had me check off, one by one, the image and style I wanted, my current hair and scalp concerns, whether I do home care, and anything to watch out for during the treatment.

A clinic is a slight exception, but at salons these days even a perm consultation often wraps up in a minute or two before they jump straight into the treatment, right? So getting care based on a form like this gave me confidence. And with clinics especially, if you book a cheaper treatment they often keep pushing a pricier one you don't even need. There was none of that pushiness here.
After feeling my hair, the designer explained that the ends were quite damaged and badly lacking moisture and protein. They also said the Ayunchae clinic I'd booked was a good choice for this hair condition.

They described my hair condition accurately, and respected the clinic I'd chosen while explaining why it was a good pick, so trust built up naturally. That's why consultations matter, I thought.🤍

Shampoo in a Massage Chair, Pure Heaven 🛁
The shampoo chair at Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch is a massage chair, so you get a massage while you lie back for the shampoo. At the final rinse they also gave me a scalp massage and an ear massage.
After the consultation, I headed to the shampoo room first. But but but!! The shampoo chair wasn't just a chair, it was a massage chair…!! You lie back for the shampoo and get a massage at the same time?! I could do an hour of just shampoo, honestly ㅜㅜ

Especially at the final rinse, they give you a scalp massage and an ear massage too, and it was truly heaven. All my fatigue melted away, and I wanted to come to the salon just for the massage🥹 The shampoo alone was already worth the money!! 💸
What Are the Steps of the Ayunchae Clinic?
The Ayunchae clinic at Oreudeubi went in this order: shampoo → 1st moisture care → steam → shampoo → 2nd moisture-oil care → steam → final shampoo. The designer explained this order before starting.
After the shampoo, I moved to my seat and they first explained the plan for the day.

Honestly, every time I've had a clinic, I often ended up not knowing what I was getting, what came next, or why. Here they explained the order before I even asked, and I felt the money was not wasted at all.
1st Moisture Care and Steam That Isn't Hot
In the first step they carefully applied a moisture-focused product, then did the steam.

They also kept checking that the steam wasn't too hot, and it truly wasn't hot at all. At another salon before, the heat on my scalp got really warm, and since I break out in pimples when my scalp stays hot for long, I was a little worried. But here I couldn't feel it at all, like a humidifier, so it was comfortable. I don't know if the machine is good or the method is different, but it was really pleasant.

2nd Moisture-Oil Care and the Final Shampoo
And then another shampoo. Happy again…🥹 After that they carefully applied the 2nd-step product that balances moisture and oil, and did the steam again.

By the time the final shampoo was done, my hair already felt different to the touch.
My Makeup Didn't Come Off Even After Several Shampoos
One more surprise. I had plans afterward, so I went in with full makeup, and I assumed several shampoos would wipe it all off. But it honestly barely came off. ((Amazing!!)) A salon that's good at shampooing is the real foundation, as they say꒰ ⸝⸝ɞ̴̶̷ ·̮ ɞ̴̶̷⸝⸝꒱
Parting Volume Styling Tips I Learned During the Blow-Dry
After the clinic, Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch blow-dried my hair while teaching me how to roll side bangs on a roller, which direction to dry, how to keep volume in the side hair, and how to part it. I'd mentioned I had plans afterward, so they styled it beautifully.
And that's not all! While drying my hair they shared so many styling tips that I wanted to take notes on every one. For years I'd been making a straight part in the same spot, so even after washing, that spot split automatically and lay flat with zero volume. The designer didn't tell me to change my part completely, but showed me how to part it in a slight curve from the usual spot.

They also said that if you lift the hair slightly with two fingers, hold heat on it for about 3 seconds, and finish with a little spray, the volume lasts. Sounds like no big deal, right!! Honestly you'll be shocked, everyone. Instantly you get that Cheongdam rich-lady, flight-attendant, backcombed, elegant part 😇🤤

That one tip alone was hugely useful, and how generously they shared it really touched me. At the end they even thoughtfully gave me a treatment and hair oil. So considerate, right!!ㅜㅜ
And haha, this is total TMI, but the designer looks like Gyumin from Transit Love (the dating reality show). If you're curious, go check in person..lol
Does the Ayunchae Clinic Hold Up When You Wash at Home?

After washing and drying my hair myself at home, the Ayunchae clinic from Oreudeubi left almost no snagging or breaking when I combed. A lot of clinics honestly only look good on the day, right? They look amazing at the salon, then go right back to normal after one wash at home. This time was definitely different.

Even with a flat iron, where I'd normally get lots of frizzy flyaways, my hair settled down much more calmly and the shine came back naturally. It felt filled from inside the strand, so I was happy with how long it lasted. I was reminded that Ayunchae isn't famous for nothing. Only my hair quality changed, yet I looked much neater and came out better in photos.

Thanks to that, I got some proper great photos on my trip.🤍 It was a day when I really understood why people say good hair alone makes you look pretty. Everyone, run to Oreudeubi..!!🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♂️
