Cheonan Dujeong group BBQ for 60, Jirisan pork belly: Cham Dwaejitgan
In short
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is a pork belly and ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly) Korean BBQ restaurant in the Dujeong-dong food alley in Cheonan. It seats up to 60 people, and staff grill the meat for you. On a visit around 8 p.m., the writer had Jirisan five-layer pork belly grilled over rice husk smoke and charcoal, plus soy sauce egg rice, Jirisan kudzu bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) and fried rice, and Cham Dwaejitgan even provided mouthwash, floss and Febreze after the meal. Because the staff do the grilling and you can focus on conversation, Cham Dwaejitgan is worth recommending for friends' gatherings and group company dinners in Cheonan.

I had some business in Cheonan and wanted a BBQ place where the staff grill for you, so I went searching and ended up at Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch (참돼짓간 천안두정점)!
Where is Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch, and how many people can it seat?
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is in the Dujeong-dong food alley and can seat up to 60 people. It seems great for company dinners. And apparently corkage is free too?!

What is the atmosphere like in the evening, and how is the ventilation?
I visited around 8 p.m. and it was still packed,,, really?! So I couldn't photograph the whole interior, sorry :( The seats are spaced out a bit, so it didn't feel cramped.
And above all, the ventilation system is seriously good! None of that stuffy BBQ-joint feeling. Totally comfortable.

Menu and the vegetables served by default
The menu has everything from pork belly to five-layer pork belly, plus pork jowl and gabrisal (pork neck). Minari (water dropwort), potato slices and king oyster mushrooms come once as standard, and extra vegetables cost extra, so keep that in mind.

Refilling side dishes and sauces at the self-service corner
For side dish refills, you just grab them yourself from the self-service corner. You can take as much as you need, which I liked, haha.

Sauces are help-yourself too~! And the garlic is unlimited. Yay!
Side dishes and dipping sauces for the meat

The basic side dishes include salad, minari, kimchi, bean sprouts and garlic stems. They give you a really generous amount of minari by default, so there was no need to order more!
The dipping sauces for the meat are varied too: spicy sauce, wasabi, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), and shiitake wasabi~! The shiitake wasabi in particular is one of my all-time favorite sauces...~

Special grill and cooking over rice husk smoke and charcoal
Cham Dwaejitgan uses a special grill. The spot for grilling meat and the spot for grilling vegetables are separate. Kimchi seasoning doesn't get on the meat, which I loved, haha.
And on top of that, they grill the meat with rice husk smoke and charcoal? I'd never seen a place smoke with rice husks, so I was excited, hehe.
Rice husk: the hard outer shell that wraps the outermost part of a rice grain, a by-product produced when rice is milled to separate the grain.
Staff do the grilling
Cham Dwaejitgan is a place where they grill the meat for you. The staff kept grilling attentively, so I could focus on the conversation, which was so nice.

Eating meat that someone else grills is really easy. When a piece is done, they place one on your plate. Great, great. For me it's always wasabi with meat! I liked that it came without my even asking, haha.

How was the Jirisan five-layer pork belly?
It was Jirisan five-layer pork belly, so the meat was thick and delicious. Highly recommend! To finish, they also grill the sliced potatoes, and eating the potato with the meat and garlic stems went really well together.

Meal menu: soy egg rice, kudzu bibim naengmyeon, fried rice
Soy egg rice
They have soy egg rice here. Have you ever seen soy egg rice at a BBQ place?!? It was a first for me, so out of curiosity I ordered it! And it came with two whole eggs! The taste was true to the basics, hoho. Soy egg rice is always a can't-go-wrong combo.

Jirisan kudzu bibim naengmyeon
The menu photo looked so delicious that I ordered the Jirisan kudzu bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles)! The noodles are made from kudzu, so they're extra chewy, and they use a house-made seasoning sauce. It's pleasantly spicy and went well with the meat too! At Cham Dwaejitgan, I'd recommend the bibim naengmyeon over the mul naengmyeon (cold broth noodles).

Fried rice
Since Cham Dwaejitgan uses a special grill, I could order fried rice after finishing the meat! You can't skip fried rice at a BBQ place, haha.

After-meal mouthwash, floss and Febreze
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch satisfied me right through the final service! For after the meal, there's mouthwash, dental floss and even Febreze. Caring about such thoughtful details is sooo gooood.
Is it a good pick for a Dujeong-dong company dinner or gathering?
I recommend Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch to anyone looking for a clean BBQ place in Dujeong-dong where the staff grill for you. It was a comfortable place to eat since they do the grilling, haha. If I come to Cheonan again, I want to revisit!!!
Also, Cham Dwaejitgan is well located for having dinner as a first round and then moving on to a bar in Dujeong-dong! It's easy to go from dinner straight to drinks, and I recommend it for friend gatherings as well as group company dinners.
