Pork BBQ in Tongjeong-dong, Cheonan with jjolmyeon pacha: Hanmaeum

A few days ago I was craving meat so badly that I went to Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Cheonan Tongjeong branch (한마음정육식당 천안통정점)! One bite and I understood why it's famous as a Cheonan beef spot. The taste, the parking, the atmosphere, I loved all of it, so I want to share it. 🥩

Where is Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Cheonan Tongjeong branch, and what about hours and parking?

The restaurant is at 46 Tongjeong 5-ro, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam, Unit 102 on the first floor, and it's open daily from 16:00 to 23:00 (last order 22:00). For parking, use the free public lot a one-minute walk away, and I hear they hand out meat coupons on Naver and Danggeun too.

The best thing the moment I arrived was the parking! There's a free public lot right next door, so I didn't have to worry about it at all. If you travel by car, parking matters more than you'd think, and this was so easy that I was in a good mood from the start. 🚗

Are the rooms big enough for family dinners and company outings?

The restaurant is much bigger than I expected, with spacious rooms, so it felt right for family meals, company dinners and get-togethers alike. I was surprised at how wide it was as soon as I walked in.

Tables aren't crammed against the next one, so it was easy to talk and I could eat at a relaxed pace for the first time in a while. It seems like a good fit for family meals, friend meetups, work dinners and birthday parties. It's good for a quiet meal and looked convenient for visiting with kids too.

Insider tip before you go: Naver and Danggeun meat coupons and the stamp card

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang often puts out meat coupons on Naver or Danggeun Market (a local secondhand and community app)! Coupons like one serving of pork belly or one serving of beef belly show up, so search once before you visit. With luck you get an extra plate of meat, and it would be a shame to skip it. 🤭

Fill up the coupon stamps and you get a whole pig or a whole cow as a service…! It would be amazing if you come often 🤭

Can you bring kids? There's a kids' café

There's a kids' café here too! You can come with your children, the little ones play, and the adults get to eat in peace!

How was the half pig?

Now for the main event, the meat! At Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang I ordered the half pig (돼지반마리).

Even the sizzling sound of meat cooking on the grill made me happy… 🥹 The pork neck (목살) was full of juice, and the nutty flavor spread through my mouth the more I chewed.

It was rich and moist, so I kept reaching for more.

Side dishes and the owner's service

It's not just the meat that's good. The side dishes come out neat and clean and go well with it.

Honestly, you could get full on the side dishes alone, haha. The owner even came over to ask if we needed more sides, so kind of them :)

The signature noodle scallion salad with pork belly

The restaurant's signature jjolmyeon pa-chae (쫄면파채, shredded scallion salad with chewy noodles) is so good too…!

Eat it with the pork belly and it's game over, haha.

I dipped meat in salt, wrapped it in lettuce, mixed in the side dishes, and a whole grill's worth vanished in no time. 🤣 I kept nodding along as I ate, understanding why it's called a top Cheonan BBQ spot. The owner was kind, so I was in a good mood throughout the meal, and the place was kept clean, which made me even happier, haha.

Is Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Cheonan Tongjeong branch worth going back to?

Personally, I loved the combo of free parking + big rooms + tasty meat + coupon perks. 😍 These things really decide how satisfied you are when eating out, right?

If you're craving good beef in Cheonan, give this place a visit. If you're looking for a BBQ place near Sinbang-dong, I think you'll be happy with it. It's easy to reach and easy to park, so it's low-stress. Next time I want to come back with my family and try other cuts.
