Western restaurant at Gijang outlet: summer lunch with a kid, Bueokgan

It was a seriously hot summer vacation in Busan, and we were in Gijang with our kid. We did some shopping at the Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets, which has Daiso and Olive Young, so the kid loved it too. Then, while looking for a lunch that parents and kid would all be happy with, we went to Bueokgan Restaurant (부엌간), known as a go-to Western restaurant in Gijang. On a hot day, a cool and tasty place is the best, right?

This Western restaurant is tucked inside the old wing of the outlet. It's across from the Daiso building, on the left side of the building with the System and wine shops!

Bueokgan is at the innermost end of the first floor of the outlet's NORTH building.

It sits just inside the escalator in front of the UGG store, and the WINE shop and SYSTEM store are in the same building on the right.

A cozy, comfortable interior, even with high chairs and toddler tableware

Bueokgan is famous enough as a family-meal spot in Gijang that there can be a wait, and it has a waiting area at the entrance.

The atmosphere is upscale, and there is group seating too, so it suits family meals and all kinds of gatherings.

The warm wood-tone interior feels stylish yet comfortable, with accent decor catching your eye here and there. High chairs and toddler tableware are ready too, so it's a good place for a family meal in Gijang.

Even the set menu lineup at Bueokgan was a cut above.

I really liked how many dishes the whole family can enjoy. The menu covers soup, salad, pasta, risotto, steak and drinks.

How were the shrimp rosé pasta and kung pao chicken pilaf?

You order easily by table order at Bueokgan. I got the shrimp rosé pasta, kung pao chicken pilaf, fresh grapefruit juice and cola.

The shrimp rosé pasta came out thick and creamy, with plump shrimp beautifully plated!

The shrimp were plump, so the texture was great! The kid said while eating that it wasn't salty and the seasoning was just right, and loved it.

The pilaf comes with sous-vide chicken finished once more in the oven! The seasoning was moderate and the chicken was really big, so it went well with the rice.

Why I recommend it for a family meal during outlet shopping

The pairings at Bueokgan were really good. The seasoning is moderate, so everything goes well together, and I'd recommend it for a meal with a kid in Gijang. If you want an easy family meal while shopping at the Gijang Shinsegae outlet, I recommend it.

There are so many choices when you look for a restaurant at the Gijang outlet that it's hard to decide, and Bueokgan is the place I trust every time. It's solid for a filling meal whether you're shopping, on a date or out with family. And the food is good too, so satisfaction is high every time I go.
