Stroller and nursing room rules at Dongtan indoor zoo Artis Theme Park
In short
Artis Theme Park is an indoor zoo on the 9th floor of Sinyu Medi Plaza in Dongtan, Hwaseong. Visiting with an 18-month-old, we checked parking, the nursing room and the stroller rules in advance, then saw everything from fish to reptiles up close and fed the rabbits and birds. After the animals, Artis Theme Park continues into kids' café play equipment and a free drink, making it an easy indoor day out with a baby.

Looking for somewhere to go with my kid in Dongtan last weekend, I ended up at Artis Theme Park, a place where you can see animals up close indoors! My son Sihwani, now 18 months old, has gotten really into animals lately. He shouts "Woof woof!" and chases after any dog he sees passing by, so I looked for somewhere nearby where a baby could see animals up close — and that's how I found it! Dongtan's indoor zoo, Artis Theme Park!

It's a place a lot of older kids visit, so I wondered if it would really work for an 18-month-old, but we ended up seeing a surprising variety of animals up close, plus experiences like feeding and doctor fish, so Sihwani and I had a fun time~!
So today I'll share what's good to know before visiting Dongtan's indoor zoo Artis Theme Park with a baby, along with our actual visit review with 18-month-old Sihwani :)

Before visiting Artis Theme Park with a baby: parking, admission, nursing room
Artis Theme Park is on the 9th floor of Sinyu Medi Plaza in Dongtan, so you can use the building's basement parking, with up to 3 hours free for visitors. Wherever I go with a baby, checking parking first is always the first thing I do~

Where do you park at Sinyu Medi Plaza?
Parking is available on basement levels 1 through 3, and visitors get up to 3 hours free.

Going anywhere with a baby is tough from the start if parking is inconvenient, but the generous free parking time here is definitely worth knowing about before visiting.
How much is admission to Artis Theme Park?
Per the official website, the adult package is currently ₩16,900 and the child package is ₩18,900. Babies aged 18–23 months like Sihwani qualify for a 50% discount if you bring proof of age~ (Free up to 17 months!)

There are also discounts for multi-child households, people with disabilities, national merit recipients, and seniors 65 and older, so bring the relevant documents if you qualify! (Discounts applied after on-site verification.)
Where is the nursing room?
The nursing room is always the first thing I check when visiting with a baby!

The nursing room is located behind the entrance area, and it looked easy to use with a diaper-changing table and a sink.
Can you bring a stroller inside?
Artis doesn't allow wheeled items like strollers or kickboards inside, and asks that they be stored separately~

If you're visiting with a baby, it's good to know this in advance~ For babies who can't walk yet, I'd recommend bringing a baby carrier.

Seeing the animals up close with an 18-month-old
Once inside Artis Theme Park, I found a surprising variety of animals, from fish like an aquarium to reptiles — and best of all, you're not just watching from a distance, you can see them up close right in front of you!
Sihwani seemed a little unsure at first, but he ended up watching the animals move for a long while~ He pointed at them and made sounds in response, which was so cute to see.

Since it's a place a lot of older kids visit, I thought it might be a bit early for a young baby, but once we got there, it clearly wasn't only a space for bigger kids~
For a baby like Sihwani who hasn't really experienced a zoo properly yet, seeing and experiencing animals up close in itself seemed to be a fun time.
Feeding rabbits and birds, then the kids' café play area
Artis Theme Park doesn't stop at just watching animals, which made it even more fun~

There's also a feeding experience, so we tried feeding rabbits and feeding birds~

Honestly, I think I was more excited than Sihwani... haha
At 18 months, Sihwani wasn't quite skilled enough to feed the animals himself, but simply seeing and experiencing the animals up close together with mom seemed to be a special time even for an 18-month-old.
After we finished looking around, there was a souvenir shop along with a kids' café play area~

It's not huge, but there's a jungle-gym-style play structure, so Sihwani got to play a bit more, and there were tables and chairs too, with quite a few parents sitting down to rest while their kids played~

And what I personally liked was that each adult admission ticket comes with one free drink! By the time we'd finished watching the animals and doing the experiences, my energy was starting to run low...

Finishing up with a cup of coffee to rest for a bit felt like part of the whole course, and I liked that~
Artis Theme Park review: how it went with an 18-month-old
We saw the animals, tried the feeding experience, and finished up with a bit more play at the kids' café and a coffee!

From an 18-month-old's perspective, being able to see the animals up close was the best part! Sihwani, who isn't used to zoos yet, pointed and reacted while watching the animals move close by, and even a young baby could fully enjoy the feeding experience with mom by his side.
It wasn't just about watching animals either — there was more play at the play equipment, and finishing with a drink made it feel like a complete indoor outing course with a baby!
Getting to see animals up close with an 18-month-old, along with feeding and bonding experiences, made this a great indoor outing now that Sihwani has gotten so interested in animals!
