I've personally toured around 50 wedding halls. Along the way I even signed a contract at one venue, then canceled and paid the penalty 😇 After that big fail, I stopped just looking at whether a hall was pretty. Now I check whether it's easy for guests to reach, whether the food is satisfying, and whether parking and the flow to the banquet hall make sense 👀

This time my husband and I visited Arbe on a weekend and checked everything ourselves — the hall, the banquet room, the buffet. Honestly, at first I thought the nickname "Bab-be" (밥르베, a pun meaning "meal-Arbe") might be a bit exaggerated... But once I actually ate there, I got why people talk about the food so much haha. Everything was kept warm and empty trays got refilled fast. The meat I love, plus sashimi, sushi, and Korean dishes — the whole spread was really satisfying 💗

Arbe is at 302 Bongeunsa-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It sits between Seondeungneung and Eonju stations, but my husband and I drove there. Parking at Gangnam wedding halls is always a worry, right? 🥲 When we visited on a weekend, we parked easily following staff instructions and it didn't feel inconvenient at all. There was also an ATM on the first floor of the building — a small thing, but it matters for guests who forgot to prepare their congratulatory cash haha. The guest waiting area wasn't huge, but it seemed fine for a short wait.

My first thought seeing Arbe's ceremony hall in person was that it was even brighter and prettier than in photos 💐 The mix of white and greenery floral decor gave it an urban-garden feel 💗 It was a totally different vibe from a factory-style convention hall! That warm, cozy feeling unique to Seoul house weddings was very much alive.

After seeing so many wedding halls, I've learned that bigger and grander isn't automatically better. If the hall is too large for the actual guest count, seats can end up looking empty. Too small, and guests might have to stand through the ceremony 🥲 Arbe felt like the right size to me. That said, couples expecting a lot of guests should double-check seated capacity and whether there's a screen outside the hall when consulting.

The bridal waiting room flowed naturally from the bright hall atmosphere too! 💗 With the cheerful floral decor, photos with family or friends wouldn't look empty in the background 💗 The space didn't feel cramped either.

One of the things I liked most about Arbe was the flow between the ceremony hall and the banquet hall. The banquet hall is right in front of the ceremony hall, so there's no need to change floors. You know how guests always end up crowding around elevators at weddings? 😇😇 At Arbe, you just walk a few steps from the ceremony to the meal — so convenient! This short flow seemed especially good for elderly guests or families with young kids 👀💗

What's on the Arbe buffet and how the banquet seating works

Walking into the banquet hall, I liked that the seats weren't packed too tightly. The aisles between tables were roomy too. No constant bumping into other guests or struggling to pull out a chair during the meal! Because what matters isn't a buffet that just looks like it has lots of dishes in photos — it's whether there's actually a lot worth eating, right?

Arbe had a good range of dishes my husband and I actually wanted to eat — meat, Korean food, sashimi, and sushi. Most of all, everything stayed hot and refills came quickly 🔥🔥 With buffet food, taste matters, but satisfaction drops fast once things go cold 🥲 That day the meat was still warm and everything looked ready to grab and eat right away.

What I enjoyed most was the tteokgalbi steak. At first I only grabbed one plate since I wanted to try other dishes too. But I ended up going back for more 🥹 hahaha. It made me want another plate right away — the flavor and texture were exactly my thing! My husband's favorite was the lamb chops. Lamb can be divisive because of its distinct smell, but after one bite he said it was the best thing there and kept eating haha.

We tried a good range of sashimi, sushi, and Korean dishes too, and honestly nothing felt off 🔥 Usually at a wedding buffet there's one or two dishes that are noticeably disappointing, but Arbe was solidly good across the board 💗

You all know there's always room for dessert even after eating that much of the main spread, right...? 😇 I checked out the dessert corner and finished with gelato. I picked mango, and it was seriously delicious 🥭 It left my mouth feeling clean and refreshed, so I kept going back even though I was already full haha. The mango gelato is, along with the tteokgalbi steak, my top pick of the day 💗

There was also a separate drinks and alcohol station, and my husband and I, who both love a drink, definitely noticed the good variety on offer 👀💗 If you're into drinks, this will make you pretty happy!

How was the banquet hall staff service at Arbe?

Honestly, after eating, what stuck with me almost as much as the food was the staff. Every time we went up for more, they smiled and told us to eat plenty. They kept kindly encouraging us to pick whatever looked tasty... it was genuinely touching 🥹 Empty plates were cleared right away, but never in a rushed or pushy way! Being served with a smile the whole time somehow put us in an even better mood.

On the actual wedding day, the bride and groom can't personally manage the banquet hall... So the impression a guest gets ultimately comes down to how the staff treats them. On that front, Arbe's staff service genuinely impressed me 🫶

Arbe's strengths and drawbacks

Arbe Wedding Hall's strengths were clear! The hall and floral decor were bright and pretty. Food satisfaction was high across the board, from meat to Korean dishes to sashimi and sushi 🔥💗 With the ceremony and banquet halls on the same floor, guest flow was easy! Seating and aisles in the banquet hall were roomy, and staff were friendly throughout ✨ Overall, this was a wedding hall with no real rough edges 💗🔥

If I had to name one drawback, it's that the first-floor lobby isn't very spacious. At times when guests all arrive at once, the waiting area could feel a bit crowded!

Which couples Arbe suits, and who should skip it

Arbe seems like a great fit for couples who are:

• Looking for a bright, cheerful Seoul wedding hall
• Prefer a Seoul house wedding over a factory-style convention hall
• Treat guest dining as a major factor in choosing a venue
• Value a short flow between the ceremony hall and banquet hall
• Pay close attention to staff service and banquet hall comfort

On the flip side, if you're after an overwhelmingly large lobby or the grandeur of a big hotel ballroom, it might not match your taste! And couples expecting a very large guest count should confirm seated capacity first 👀

I've already made my final choice at a different wedding hall, but if I were starting my Gangnam wedding hall search from scratch again, Arbe would definitely make my shortlist. I've seen plenty of places where only the hall is pretty, and plenty where only the food is good — Arbe struck a good overall balance of a bright hall, easy flow, and tasty food 💗 I was curious whether the "Bab-be" nickname really held up, and after eating there myself, I have to admit — it does haha. Definitely try the tteokgalbi steak, the lamb chops, and the mango gelato 🫶
