Myeongdong BBQ: Gwanggaeto black pork with six dips, Yuktongnyeong

Yuktongnyeong Myeongdong Main Branch (육통령 명동본점) is a Korean BBQ restaurant specialising in aged black pork on Myeongdong 8na-gil in Jung-gu, Seoul. The writer ordered 2 servings of omija-aged Gwanggaeto black pork ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly) with dongchimi mulnaengmyeon and dongchimi bibim naengmyeon. A staff member grilled the pork over charcoal while the writer took turns with 6 seasoning sauces: doenjang, suntaejeot, omija sauce, saeujeot, wasabi and wine-roasted salt. Because each sauce changed the flavour, the Yuktongnyeong pork belly never got boring right to the last bite.

Anguk perfume workshop with a kid on school break: Muhwawon

Muhwawon Bukchon Perfume Workshop is a one-day perfume class studio on Yulgok-ro 6-gil in Jongno, Seoul, between Anguk Station and Changdeokgung Palace. During the school break, the writer and a perfume-loving child took the premium 50ml class, which lasted 1 hour 30 minutes: they picked 6 or more favourite scents and adjusted the ratio over 3 rounds to finish their perfume. Choosing scents seriously and talking them through together made Muhwawon Bukchon Perfume Workshop an experience to remember for a long time.
