3-burner beef BBQ after a movie in Uijeongbu: Supsok Oki Jip

It's been a while since I've written a blog post haha. I kept putting off writing while juggling other stuff, but I'm back to recording things again!

Today I stopped by nearby after watching the movie Odyssey. Going straight home after the movie felt like a waste, so I looked around for somewhere to go, and ended up here — it turned out better than expected, so I snapped a few photos.

It felt good to watch a movie and take my time for once! It was a pretty ordinary day, but looking back later, days like this probably become memories too, right?

Where is Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch, and what does it look like?

Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch is easy to get to since it's not far from Uijeongbu Station! It's been a while since I looked around the Uijeongbu Station area, and it seems like a lot more good places have popped up compared to before!

The outer entrance is decorated to look like a log cabin.

Personally, whenever I go to a restaurant, seeing plaques like "famous restaurant" or "excellent restaurant" makes me trust the place a bit more haha. Of course having a plaque doesn't guarantee it'll suit my taste exactly, but it makes me feel like a lot of people have already vouched for the food, so I start looking forward to it even before I go in! Especially at a restaurant I'm visiting for the first time, small details like this end up mattering more than you'd think haha.

Personally, when I see a place with plaques like this, I think, 'okay, I can expect decent food here!'

What is the cabin interior at Supsok Oki Jip like?

Now let me show you the inside of the restaurant~! For those curious about the overall atmosphere, I took photos of the interior one by one. Hope it's helpful to see what the place looked like when we visited :)

Hand towels and liquid soap at the hand-washing station

There was also a separate hand-washing spot set up on one side! And it came neatly stocked with hand towels and liquid soap.

Personally, I tend to care about this kind of detail at restaurants haha. When you're eating meat or other food, your hands can end up smelling or getting sauce on them, so it's nice to have a place to wash up properly before and after eating. Places that have both liquid soap and hand towels prepared together give off a well-managed feel, which personally scores points with me!

Having disposable hand towels instead of shared cloth towels felt more hygienic too, and it gave the impression that they'd thought carefully about the little things. This might not seem like a huge deal, but when small details like this are well taken care of at a restaurant, it somehow feels cleaner and tidier overall haha. If you're someone who notices these little things like me, this might be worth keeping in mind :)

Ordering hwangje neukgansal and diced beef short ribs with the set add-on

Let me show you the menu too~! For our first order, we got one serving of hwangje neukgansal (premium beef short rib) plus one serving of diced beef ribs, and added the set add-on on top! We picked two types of meat to start, figuring we'd order more later if we still weren't full haha.

And for anyone who likes to drink, I really, really recommend the set add-on!!! We originally planned to just eat meat, but the dishes that came with the set add-on turned out to be way better than expected. Especially the curry and the gopchang jeongol (offal hot pot) — total drinking-snack thieves lol.

The curry goes great with the meat, and the gopchang jeongol had a rich, spicy broth that was perfect as a drinking snack. Eating meat, then having a spoonful of hot broth, then wanting another drink... it's a combo that just naturally keeps you going haha.

Especially if you drink, I'd really recommend adding the set instead of just ordering meat alone! You get to eat meat, enjoy a soup-based snack, and have curry too, so you can try a bunch of different dishes at once. Thanks to that we ate really well, meat plus the full set menu, haha. If you like to drink, definitely consider the set add-on! It's genuinely perfect as a drinking snack 👍

Three burners at once: beef, curry and gopchang jeongol

There are three burners total~ The middle one is for meat, the left for curry, and the right for gopchang jeongol! There's a fire-control guide next to the table so you can adjust it as you go haha. In the photos, it's meat in the middle / curry on the right / gopchang jeongol on the left :)

This is the gopchang jeongol! Really recommended for drinkers haha. There's curry too, but I was too busy eating to take a photo of it, ugh.

The curry is on the spicy side!! It really suited my taste. It seemed to cut through the richness whenever the meat started feeling heavy.

Diced beef short ribs and hwangje neukgansal, two servings

This is the diced beef ribs and hwangje neukgansal we ordered first! We got two servings total, and both looked delicious just from the visuals haha. We grilled them one by one, excited to see how they'd taste.

At first we only planned to eat these two dishes, but once the drinks started flowing, we got a little greedy lol. We ended up saying, 'should we try something else too?' and went for it.

It was more fun trying a little of several things instead of sticking to just one dish, and we ended up pretty full from all the sampling haha. I guess the fun of a Korean BBQ place really is not stopping at what you first ordered, but adding on whatever looks good along the way :) In the end we drank and added on more meat, and had a proper good time haha.

That's two servings total of diced beef short ribs and hwangje neukgansal~ We ended up trying other menu items while drinking!!

Finishing the meal with jjagyechi

Seeing that the jjagyechi (fried rice with egg, chicken, and kimchi) had a soft-boiled egg on top, they really know what they're doing, haha. The menu here is great for drinking snacks, and I'd recommend it as a date spot too~
