Nampo-dong bar in Busan for company dinners: pineapple sherbet, Budan
In short
Budan Nampo Branch (부단 남포점) is a gastropub on Bupyeong-dong's Jokbal Alley, off Gwangbok-ro in Jung-gu, Busan, with plenty of group seating that makes it an easy pick for a company dinner in Nampo-dong. The writer started with the free toast and whipped cream and Saero Omija soju, ate Cheese Jjusaeu (spicy baby octopus and shrimp with cheese), then finished the spice on a sweet note with pineapple sherbet. Budan Nampo Branch suits Nampo-dong groups who want dinner and drinks in one place.

I was looking for a place in Nampo-dong for good food and a drink, and ended up at Budan Nampo Branch (부단 남포점). There's lots of group seating inside, so you can have a meal and drinks together. If you're looking for a Nampo-dong spot for a group company dinner, I recommend it.
Where is Budan Nampo Branch, and is there parking?
Budan Nampo Branch is on Bupyeong-dong's Jokbal (pigs' feet) Alley, a 5-minute walk from Jagalchi Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport. It has no parking space of its own, so you'll need to use a nearby paid parking lot.
What's on the menu at Budan Nampo Branch?

The menu has Cheese Jjusaeu (cheese octopus and shrimp), mara cream udon pork, boiled pork kimchi stew and more, so you can cover both a meal and drinking snacks. Recommended if you're searching for a Nampo-dong bar, a place for a light drink with food, or a good eat in Nampo-dong.
We ordered the Cheese Jjusaeu and the pineapple sherbet.
Free starter: toast with whipped cream
The free starter at Budan Nampo Branch is toast with whipped cream. It's a light, appetizer-style bite, which I liked.

What does Saero Omija soju taste like?
Saero Omija tastes like soju with a little pomegranate-flavored Hongcho (vinegar drink) mixed in. It was refreshing, which I liked. The weather had suddenly turned hot and I needed something cold, so I ordered Saero Omija and a cider. It isn't like those old fruit sojus that gave you a hangover, so I drank it without worry.

What is Budan's Cheese Jjusaeu?
Budan Nampo Branch's Cheese Jjusaeu is a dish with half shrimp and half spicy stir-fried baby octopus (jjukkumi) on top of a mozzarella cheese sauce. Its appeal is getting soft cheese and spicy octopus together.

It tastes different from eating the spicy octopus on its own, and with the cheese the flavors were nicely balanced.

In particular, the rice cakes (tteoksari) in the octopus stir-fry had soaked up the seasoning and were delicious. Eat the big octopus together with the cheese-wrapped shrimp and you get a spicy, savory snack.

If you want something a bit different from the usual at a Nampo-dong bar, this is the dish I'd recommend.

Pineapple sherbet after spicy Cheese Jjusaeu: how was it?
The pineapple sherbet at Budan Nampo Branch was sweet and cold, and went well with drinks. After eating the spicy Cheese Jjusaeu I wanted something sweet too, so I ordered it as an extra.

Who should book Budan Nampo Branch for a group dinner?
If you're looking for somewhere to have a drink in Nampo-dong, Budan Nampo Branch is worth considering. If you want dinner and drinks together in Nampo-dong, it also seems a decent choice for a light drink after a meal or an evening with friends.
