In short

A Haenggung-dong Western restaurant I'd recommend for dates! Low Five Sinpung

What kind of place is Low Five Sinpung?

Low Five Sinpung on a weekday evening at the start of the holiday

Low Five Sinpung is a Western restaurant in Haenggung-dong (Sinpung-dong), Suwon, with a seriously European vibe. I went on a weekday evening right at the start of a holiday! Low Five has two locations in Haenggung-dong, the original and the Sinpung branch, and I visited the Sinpung branch!!

Where do you park at Low Five Sinpung?

European-style exterior of Low Five Sinpung

Low Five Sinpung has no private parking, so you need to use a nearby public lot. On my weekday evening visit there was luckily space in the Sinpung-dong public lot, and it was free for one hour! Low Five had a great atmosphere starting from the outside! If the lot is full and it's a struggle, I'd suggest the Janganmun public lot as your second choice and the Hwahongmun public lot as your third,,

What are the seats and atmosphere like at Low Five Sinpung?

Inside Low Five Sinpung with widely spaced tables

I liked that the tables at Low Five Sinpung are spaced quite far apart! The sofa seats were all taken, so we sat at the window seats for the time being!

The window seats had a lovely, pretty atmosphere too....! There were a lot of groups of women when I visited, and I guess lots of people come because it's so nice and pretty!

I'd done some homework before visiting, and everyone raves about the pizza, so pizza was a must!! I ordered a half-and-half (corn & pepperoni). The lasagna is limited quantity, so I picked it right away! And since a lot of the menu seemed tomato-based, I went with the vongole pasta (clam pasta)!

Friendly staff and moving to a sofa seat

The sofa seats at Low Five Sinpung after moving over

I loved how genuinely friendly the staff at Low Five Sinpung were! While we were sitting there a sofa seat opened up, so I asked if we could move, and we switched right over,,,,! The sofa seats are definitely more comfortable,,, haha

Complimentary jalapeños and the table at Low Five Sinpung
Central self-service zone with wet wipes and hot sauce

They bring you jalapeños by default, and for extras like wet wipes or hot sauce, they told us to help ourselves at the self-service zone in the middle! They also sell a few bottled beers, which looked perfect for pizza and beer!

How does the vongole pasta taste at Low Five Sinpung? (₩18,000)

Vongole pasta topped with Manila clams and arugula

The vongole pasta at Low Five Sinpung is ₩18,000, an oil-based pasta topped with Manila clams, extra virgin olive oil, Reggiano and arugula. It has that plain, clean oil pasta feel..!

Low Five vongole pasta served with lemon

They said to squeeze the lemon on top however we like, so we decided to squeeze it! Squee~~~eze,,,,, And yes!! A clean oil pasta flavor? The noodles were cooked just right too, so I think it'd be a good choice for anyone who feels there's too much tomato sauce everywhere,,!!

How is the half-and-half corn and pepperoni pizza? (₩26,000)

Half-and-half pizza with corn and pepperoni

The half-and-half pizza (corn & pepperoni) at Low Five Sinpung is ₩26,000. The corn pizza is Low Five's signature, but I figured it'd be better as a half-and-half rather than a whole pie, so I ordered it half and half with pepperoni!

Corn pizza topped with grilled whole corn

Half of the corn pizza topped with grilled whole corn

First, the corn pizza on the left is topped with grilled whole corn, and with that sweet-and-salty combo it feels like even kids would eat it without any fuss..?

Tasting the sweet-and-salty corn pizza

It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, and I immediately said "oh, this is good!!" hahaha

Pepperoni pizza with savory red sauce

And the pepperoni~! Personally, the corn was good, but I think the pepperoni was even better. It's topped with olives, mushrooms and jalapeños, and the sauce (red sauce) under the pepperoni is a bit unusual, with so much savory depth that I never got tired of it! You might feel just a very slight kick of spice while eating,,?

Is the limited-quantity classic lasagna worth ordering? (₩23,000)

Table at Low Five Sinpung set with pizza and pasta

The classic lasagna at Low Five Sinpung is ₩23,000 and a limited-quantity item. Two dishes came out first and the lasagna was still to come. I wondered if it would take a while, but they brought it right over!

Classic lasagna, a limited-quantity menu item

When something has a limited-quantity tag, you feel like you just have to eat it,,,!! It was a truly classic lasagna, just like the name, with tomato ragù sauce, lasagna sheets and cheese!

The staff said they could reheat it if it got cold and to just let them know, but I finished the lasagna while it was still warm, so I never needed to ask haha

Cheese-loaded classic lasagna at Low Five

This place's lasagna is good!!! It's loaded with cheese, and the tomato sauce might come across as a bit strong?

A bite of lasagna sheets and tomato sauce

It pairs well with the lasagna sheets, full of tomato aroma, with that flavor of being soaked in sauce.... I enjoyed it so much...!!!

Is there a wait at Low Five Sinpung?

First dinner of the holiday enjoyed at Low Five Sinpung

It was such a happy evening....!!!! The food was good and the atmosphere was great, so I got to start the holiday in a really good mood!

Low Five Sinpung takes waitlist entries through Catch Table (a Korean reservation app), and when I left it showed 3 teams waiting! It seems there's a bit of a wait on weekends, so it's good to keep that in mind when you visit!!!!
