Solo coffee shop visit near Konkuk Univ Station, Seoul: Café Ohkam
In short
Café Ohkam is a dessert café spread over three floors on Dongil-ro 22-gil near Konkuk Univ Station in Gwangjin, Seoul. Visiting alone, the writer ordered an americano (₩4,800) and a mango sando (₩8,000), and liked the balance of yogurt cream and fresh mango. The wifi was too weak to work on, so the writer left after two hours, but Café Ohkam is a lovely spot for talking and taking photos.

📍Café Ohkam

How to find the entrance to Café Ohkam near Konkuk Univ Station
Here's my review of Café Ohkam near Konkuk Univ Station!! Look for the orange sign that says OKLM and go up half a flight of stairs. If you prefer a café that's quiet enough to talk in, with some aesthetic charm, instead of a noisy franchise, please read through today's post!

Café Ohkam menu and the fresh mango bingsu
There's a variety of desserts and drinks, and cute candles are sold alongside them too. Bank transfer is also possible. The fresh mango bingsu (shaved ice) seemed to be famous, but since I was visiting alone I sadly skipped it and ordered a mango sando instead.

Seeing the piles of mangoes in the back, anyone could tell mango bingsu is the café's main menu item haha (mangoes stacked like a mountain…). It was surprising how clean the interior felt even with an open kitchen. The whole building has a really modern feel.

There are also cute cookies for a review event, just so you know!!

Can you work at Café Ohkam? Wifi and atmosphere
The wifi info is posted on the 1st floor wall, along with a cute cat sticker 🫳🏻 But the wifi wasn't working well, so I ended up moving to another spot after about two hours. It seemed like a good place for conversation, though!

Seating at Café Ohkam: 1st floor, 2nd floor and 3rd-floor rooftop
Café Ohkam has three floors total. The 1st floor is where you order, with only about two tables, so most people end up staying on the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor has various seating like sofa spots and table seats as shown in the photos, with a window wall giving a decent view. However, aside from the sofa seats, the chairs were a bit hard and uncomfortable. The 3rd floor is a rooftop, but it seemed like no one was using it since it's summer (during a heat wave that hit 35 degrees…). If you visit when it's cooler, the rooftop would probably be great to enjoy.

How the mango sando and americano tasted
I ordered an americano (₩4,800) and a mango sando (₩8,000). For dessert I picked the mango sando! The cream sandwiched inside wasn't the usual heavy whipped cream but a refreshing yogurt cream, so it paired really well with the sweet, ripe mango flesh. Since I enjoy baking, I tend to pay close attention to a dessert's cream texture and sweetness, and the yogurt's distinct freshness kept it from feeling heavy in the mouth.
Honestly, with so many high-quality fruit sando specialty shops popping up these days, it wasn't quite the eye-opening 'wow, best sando of my life!!' level. But if you want a refreshing dessert to enjoy alongside Café Ohkam's cozy atmosphere, ordering this with your coffee should still make for a pleasant experience!
The americano tasted ordinary, but the cup was really pretty. Also made me think the dishes must be a pain to wash…
Especially when the drinks and desserts were served, the owner's careful sense showed in every pretty tray and stylish piece of tableware. Since I enjoy baking at home, I tend to be pretty picky about texture and ingredient ratios when eating dessert. But with this place's dessert, from the first bite I could feel the richness of not skimping on good ingredients, which was really satisfying. Taking pretty dessert photos with the warm natural light coming through the window as my lighting, every shot came out with that full Instagram-worthy feel.
Who is Café Ohkam best for?
Since it's near Konkuk University, quite a few Konkuk students seemed to be coming even during vacation. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy, aesthetic café around Gwangjin-gu, Café Ohkam seems like it'd be a choice you won't regret. It was a fine spot to chat with a friend or for a date course with a partner.
