Seongsu taco spot for a Seoulsup date: gloves and QR orders, Morimoly

Morimoly is a taco restaurant in Seongsu, Seoul, specializing in tacos with gim bugak (fried seaweed chip) shells, on the main alley between Seoulsup Station and Ttukseom Station. On a weekend Seoulsup date, we sat at a 2nd-floor table and ordered the Morimoly Taco and the Garlic Butter Shrimp Taco (14,900 won each) by QR code; the big tacos have rice under the seaweed-chip shell, and disposable gloves at the self-bar make them easy to eat. For a filling, special meal on a Seoulsup date, Morimoly is a place worth going back to.

Hyehwa katsu and nabe udon restaurant: Saturday wait at Maison Akai

Maison Akai Hyehwa is a Japanese-Western restaurant on Daemyeong-gil in Daehak-ro, near Hyehwa Station in Jongno, Seoul, serving tonkatsu, nabe, pasta and soba. On a Saturday lunch visit, after signing the waiting list, the writer ordered the premium loin set, chicken katsu kimchi nabe udon and a karaage rice bowl from the tabletop kiosk; the thick yet tender premium loin and the generous portions stood out. Maison Akai gets busy enough that arriving at opening time is worth it on weekends, but it is a dependable Daehak-ro pick for dates, blind dates and family meals.

Seongsu Station poke restaurant with a board game zone: Le Vegie Wang

Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space is a poke and salad bowl restaurant on Yeonmujang-gil in Seongdong, Seoul, with a spacious dining room, dog-friendly seating, a self-serve ice water dispenser and a board game zone. The writer ordered the signature Yeona Bowl (salmon avocado poke, ₩12,900) and Salchi Bowl (salsa chicken poke, ₩11,500), and the oat rice and generous toppings made these salad bowls genuinely filling. For a light but satisfying meal during a Seongsu pop-up tour, Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space is a good fit.

Songpa gopchang BBQ, ₩19,000 a portion, silicone guard: Jinseong

Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch is a Korean beef (hanwoo) gopchang restaurant in the Bangi food alley in Songpa, Seoul. At Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang we ordered one portion each of gopchang (small intestine), daechang (large intestine) and makchang (abomasum) at 19,000 won per portion of beef gopchang. Staff grilled every cut to the end behind a silicone oil guard on the grill rim, served with three homemade kimchis, a minari pickled garlic sauce and anchovy noodles to finish. With both the flavor and the service satisfying, Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi is worth a visit after booking on Naver.

Wirye pizza with 48-hour aged dough and ragù pasta: Jackson Pizza

Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch is an American-style pizza and pasta restaurant at Wirye Central Plaza in Changgok-dong, Seongnam. At lunch, the writer ordered a Super Jackson pizza and Geto Bolognese (ragù pasta) by scanning the table QR code. The dough, cold-aged for 2 days, was crisp outside and chewy inside, and the house ragù sauce, simmered for 7 hours, did not feel heavy alongside the pizza. For hot, freshly baked pizza, eating in at Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch is worth it over delivery.
