Today my partner and I visited "PICT Roastery" Mangwon Branch, known for #MangwonDongCafe and #MangwonDongDessert~! On weekends our date course is browsing Mangwon Market and picking a café to rest at, and since I heard this is a roastery café that roasts its own beans every day, I even brought my laptop haha.
Let's get right into it!
What PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch looks like inside and out
Here's today's star, "PICT Roastery" Mangwon Branch! A red brick building with black window frames, hours handwritten on the door. Wed-Fri 11am-7pm, Sat-Sun 11am-9pm, closed Mon-Tue — definitely check the day before you go!
Two round mirror signs on the outer wall! The upper mirror lists menu items in handwriting — americano, lattes, French toast, Basque cheesecake, pistachio tiramisu. You end up snapping a mirror selfie here lol.
Step inside and it's a bright space with white walls and wooden tables. Being a weekend afternoon there were families and people with laptops too, so it was buzzing — very fitting for a well-known Mangwon-dong café.
Tables are spaced generously and there's bar seating by the window, good for solo visits or coming as a pair. People were comfortably doing laptop work at "PICT Roastery" too haha.
We sat by the window, and you could see the Mangwon-dong alley outside — nice for just sitting and zoning out haha.
There were FIG TOAST posters on the wall! Apparently the fig aged French toast is a seasonal item — saw the poster and mentally bookmarked it for next visit lol.

The "PICT Roastery" menu board! Americano 4,900 won, café latte 5,500 won, vanilla bean latte 6,500 won, cappuccino 6,000 won, café mocha 6,500 won, black latte 6,500 won. For desserts, aged French toast is 11,900 won, Kyoto matcha Basque cheesecake is 7,500 won, pistachio tiramisu is 8,000 won, and the seasonal fig aged French toast is 17,900 won. Takeout gets you a 1,000 won discount!
At the counter, three types of beans are introduced: Midnight Cacao Blend, Ariça Bouquet Blend, Brazil Cerrado Decaf. Being able to pick your beans by scent since they're self-roasted really gave off that roastery-café feeling.
What we ordered: 2 iced café lattes ₩11,000, pistachio tiramisu ₩8,000. Like so!
How were the two iced café lattes?
Our order arrived all together on a wooden tray! Two lattes in PIKT logo mugs and a slice of pistachio tiramisu. The visuals alone give off that Mangwon-dong dessert-café vibe, right? haha.
A latte in hand feels so relaxing~!
The mugs are just the right size to fit in your hand — great for photos and for sipping. The dog logo is so cute lol.
Looking down at it, the crema spreading gently through the ice was pure art! The first sip was smooth with a cacao aftertaste lingering, so I guessed it was the Midnight Cacao Blend. It felt like the whole reason this is a well-known Mangwon-dong café was in that one cup of coffee haha.
Pistachio tiramisu, 8,000 won
And today's dessert, the pistachio tiramisu! Pale pistachio-colored cream topped with chopped pistachios laid diagonally across it. Among Mangwon-dong desserts, this one's visual is clean and neat, so it photographs really well haha.
From the side you can see the layers — smooth cream on top, a moist sponge below, so one bite gives you two textures at once.
A close-up of the pistachio topping! Nutty with a good bite to it, nice contrast against the softness of the cream.
Scoop a forkful and it's this moist! Not too sweet, with a strong pistachio flavor, so alternating bites with the latte and it disappeared in no time. My partner was eyeing the last bite so I quickly ate it lol.
