I finally made it to Gatjidong Noeun Branch (갓지동 노은점) after seeing it on a neighboring blog! I originally rushed over because I completely fell for the look of the tomato green tangerine salmon udon... but sadly, it was sold out...! I was so disappointed, but then—what?! Every single thing we ordered was insanely good, so the disappointment disappeared in a flash. Not only were the menu pairings amazing, every single sauce served alongside them was totally my taste! The owner was so kind too, so I felt great the entire time I was eating. I’m absolutely coming back soon to try that tomato green tangerine salmon udon I missed!

The warm wood tones are so neat and clean throughout! With well-arranged tables for two to four people, it is perfect whether you are dining alone, on a date, or out with family. Each table has tablet ordering, and the roomy spacing between seats makes it an ideal place to enjoy a relaxed meal!

A wide menu, from pork cutlets to udon and rice bowls

What we ordered
- Generous Raw Salmon Salad
- Half-and-Half Pork Cutlet + Mini Curry Rice Bowl
Generous Raw Salmon Salad, ₩13,800

A heap of glistening orange raw salmon sits on crisp cabbage! The sweet, nutty salad dressing is generously poured over it, and I was blown away from the very first bite...
The cabbage-and-salmon combination makes this a wonderfully easy dish to finish without feeling heavy!

And the soy sauce the owner quietly brought us—though it does not normally come with the dish—was seriously the ultimate finishing touch... Dip the salmon deeply into it and the nuttiness and savory umami are unreal. An unbeatable pairing, no question!
Half-and-Half Pork Cutlet + Mini Curry Rice Bowl, ₩16,100

Adding a mini curry rice bowl to the signature half-and-half pork cutlet is a combination that simply cannot fail!

You get to try both the thick pork loin cutlet, crisp outside and juicy inside, and the whole cheese pork cutlet bursting with nuttiness. It is just the best...

Then there is the appeal of the rich Japanese-style curry! Add the mini curry rice bowl and it is perfection itself. It may be called “mini,” but there is a generous amount of curry—mix it into the rice and eat it with the pork cutlet, and it vanished in no time!

From the main dishes to every sauce served alongside them, there was not a single thing at Gatjidong Noeun Branch that did not taste good—I kept marveling throughout the meal. Between the clean, comfortable wood-toned interior and the genuinely kind owner, I felt so well looked after and enjoyed every bite.
