Hanwoo beef barbecue in Yuseong, Daejeon: Worang Myeongga

Among all meats, beef really is the most delicious, isn’t it? Other than the fact that it is a little pricey, beef is something I would love to eat every day. Today, I was craving proper beef for the first time in a while, so I visited a beef restaurant in Yuseong.

On days when I am craving beef, I look for somewhere with a relaxing atmosphere too. While looking for a good beef restaurant in Yuseong, I visited Worang Myeongga Daejeon Yuseong Main Branch (워낭명가 대전유성본점) and tried its assorted beef platter. I was so surprised by the huge number of diners, even though I visited on a weekday—Tuesday, at that!

Worang Myeongga Daejeon Yuseong Main Branch: location and hours

It is at 10 Gyeryong-ro 105beon-gil, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, and is open from 11:30 to 23:00. Break time is from 15:00 to 17:00, while Saturday and Sunday have no break time. You can use the restaurant’s free dedicated parking in front, or the parking lot in front of the restaurant for free.

It is across from the LG Electronics Best Shop by Exit 8 of Yuseong Oncheon Station, so it is very conveniently accessible by car, subway, or bus.

A generously sized exterior and comfortable interior

Worang Myeongga Daejeon Yuseong Main Branch looked substantial from the outside, so it was easy to find even on a first visit. I thought it would be a nice place for a family meal or a gathering with several people.

Once inside, the overall atmosphere felt clean and comfortable. It was spacious and pleasant—really nice for a meal and a drink.

Dining space with private rooms

Along with the table seating, there are private rooms, which seemed especially nice for anyone wanting a quiet meal. The private spaces would be very convenient for family meals, important gatherings, or company dinners where you do not want to worry about other tables watching. Thanks to the spacious, pleasant dining area, we could enjoy the beef at an unhurried pace.

The butcher counter and assorted beef platter

One thing that stood out at Worang Myeongga Daejeon Yuseong Main Branch was the butcher counter. You can look over a range of beef cuts yourself, which would be fun for anyone who loves meat. I also liked being able to check the meat with my own eyes and choose what I wanted.

Looking at the color and marbling of the meat while deciding which cuts to eat that day was part of the fun of the meal too.

Doesn’t the assorted beef platter we chose look absolutely delicious? The meat was genuinely fresh.

A self-service bar for vegetables and fruit

There was also a self-service bar so that diners could conveniently help themselves to any food or sides they needed during the meal. Being able to bring over just as much as we wanted was convenient and did not interrupt the flow of eating. Best of all, there was fruit for dessert, which I really loved.

It is a specialist restaurant for 1++ female Hanwoo beef. They also have a variety of wines, which was so nice.

They also sell a variety of ginseng liquors.

From yuk sashimi to assorted beef

Soon the food arrived. The fresh yuk sashimi (Korean beef sashimi) was wonderfully chewy.

Would you call it beef doenjang-guk, soybean-paste soup with beef? The broth was really rich and delicious.

Cheonyeop, or omasum tripe. I like this, and it was so fresh. Even the steamed egg was absolutely great.

Then the meat went on the grill. You know beef should only be cooked lightly, right? It was so tender and delicious even without salt.

The beef at Worang Myeongga Daejeon Yuseong Main Branch truly melted in my mouth.

We grilled some more. Since it was an assorted platter, we could try a variety of cuts.

It was so nice to freshen up between bites with vegetables and fruit from the dessert bar.

And then we happily finished the remaining meat too.

After finishing your meal, there is ice cream for dessert like this, which the kids really seemed to love.

There was even an espresso machine, which I love, so it really was a perfect meal.

An assorted Hanwoo platter suited to family meals and gatherings

The assorted beef platter, which lets you taste a balanced variety of cuts, would work well for family meals, get-togethers with friends, or company dinners. If you are looking for a good beef restaurant in Yuseong or somewhere to enjoy a relaxed meal in a private space, I think it would be worth visiting.
