NEW Oh! My Ghost (New 오! 나의 귀신님)

Introduction photo for the Daehak-ro play NEW Oh! My Ghost

I went to Daehak-ro for some culture after a long while~ Since it's a neighborhood for the arts, Daehak-ro has a special atmosphere all its own, doesn't it? And you can't come to Daehak-ro without seeing a play, right? So let me introduce a popular Daehak-ro play, NEW Oh! My Ghost.

The cozy ticket booth at Aruto Small Theater

Since it's a small theater, the ticket booth at Aruto Small Theater is really cozy, unlike JTN Art Hall, which I visited before! The staff kindly explained seating and that you can enter 15 minutes early.

Wristband ticket given instead of a paper ticket

Isn't it so cute that they give you a wristband as your ticket instead of a paper one? Such a nice touch for a popular Daehak-ro play!

Photo related to the play Oh! My Ghost

Oh! My Ghost, I somehow assumed it was a horror play~ I didn't know this story had a TV drama version, either~ Apparently there was a drama starring Park Bo-young!

Retro-style entrance of Aruto Small Theater

Aruto Small Theater entrance and the stairs to the 4th floor

There's no elevator at Aruto Small Theater, so you have to walk up to the 4th floor. We had some time to spare, so we got coffee at the Starbucks right in front and went in about 10 minutes before the show~ The entrance has a retro feel! I was so excited to see a play after so long. Watching a play live in Daehak-ro feels totally different from acting on TV, because you can feel the energy!

Stairs up to the 4th floor of Aruto Small Theater

Climbing to the 4th floor with no elevator is a bit of a chore, but look at the thoughtful thank-you message! For a fun play, walking up four floors is nothing, right~??

What is NEW Oh! My Ghost about?

A woman who wants her memories back, a ghost who wants her wish granted, and a man caught awkwardly in between. What on earth is going on..?

Jaerim is a writer of romance plays. But he has never dated anyone, so even his only friend, Taegu, teases him about what he could possibly know about romance. As usual he's stuck on his writing, so he lies down to sleep, and suddenly there's a ghost in front of him!? To make things worse, Hanbyeol, a woman he's never met, shows up drunk with no memory! Under the ghost's threats, Jaerim has to help Hanbyeol recover her memories and even fulfill the ghost's bucket list! In this absurd, chaotic situation, the three get to know each other and the story begins :D

Is NEW Oh! My Ghost a scary play?

NEW Oh! My Ghost is a four-actor play, and unlike the title, it isn't scary at all. It was a really cheerful, fun play. This was the cast that day.

Cast introduction for NEW Oh! My Ghost on the day
  • Jaerim (male lead) / Seon Gyeong-jun
  • Hanbyeol (female lead) / Han Seon-im
  • Taegu (Jaerim's friend) / Lee Gyeong-ho
  • Seonhwa (the ghost) / Choi Seong-bin
Stage set for Oh! My Ghost before the show

A snap of the stage set before the show! I was so curious what kind of play it would be. Honestly, the pre-show mood looks kind of strange~

Post-show actor photo time and my review of NEW Oh! My Ghost

After NEW Oh! My Ghost ends, there's a photo time where you can take pictures of the actors~!! There are a few moments during the show that give you a little jump scare, and that was part of the fun, too~ I especially loved Lee Gyeong-ho's acting as Taegu :D And all the actors kept making me laugh with their funny performances, so it was a really fun, popular Daehak-ro play~
