Sokcho Yetgokgan is a traditional Korean snack shop in Sokcho, Gangwon, near Sokcho Jungang Market. I bought two boxes of crunchy, nutty, sweet oranda, which went nicely with tea or coffee. A lovely stop for traditional snack gifts.
Deungdae Gotgan is a Korean restaurant overlooking Deungdae Beach in Sokcho, Gangwon. On the second day of a golf trip, I returned with my husband for thick pork cutlet, spicy stir-fried pork, and large fried shrimp. Deungdae Gotgan is a refreshing, satisfying stop for a meal by the sea.
Saimdang Bueok is a Korean restaurant beside Ojukheon in Gangneung, Gangwon. Two adults and one child shared two Ojukheon set meals with spicy pork, and the child finished a bowl of rice with grilled fish. A satisfying family-trip meal.

I tried pollock sikhae bibim makguksu, buckwheat gimbap, sundubu, buckwheat jeonbyeong, and pumpkin makgeolli all in one spread. Verdict: a great pick when you cannot choose between makguksu and sundubu.

The first Bultan Gamja Bread had a wonderfully chewy, potato-rice-cake-like shell and soft potato filling, while the jjondeugi seemed made for beer. Verdict: a fun, distinctive Sokcho travel snack to try or bring home.
Jinsol Halmeoni Sundubu is a Korean restaurant in Haksapyeong Tofu Village, Sokcho, Gangwon. I tried the ₩17,000 seafood jjamppong sundubu and ₩14,000 spicy sundubu, both served with rice. Verdict: I would choose the seafood jjamppong sundubu again.
Yetgoeul Sundubu is a tofu restaurant in Sokcho, Gangwon, serving abalone jjamppong sundubu and Chodang sundubu with pot rice. I tried the spicy seafood broth, mild tofu, and perilla oil grilled tofu, and the free parking and pet-friendly private room were so convenient. Verdict: a hearty, wholesome meal for a Sokcho trip.
