Yeongwol private stay with mountain-view mornings: Deo Swim

This Yeongwol trip was a little special because I picked the accommodation first, then decided on the destination 😆💕 While looking for somewhere to stay, I found Deo Swim (영월 더 쉼) 🏡🌿

Its unusual exterior caught my eye at first, but I liked it even more because it is a private standalone stay that looks a little like a caravan, while the inside feels more like a hotel than an ordinary pension 🤎✨ With mountain views through huge windows, a private barbecue, and even a fire pit, I planned my Yeongwol trip just to visit Deo Swim 🚗💨

A Mountain Stay in Yeongwol: Getting There

Deo Swim is tucked deeper into the Yeongwol mountains than I expected 🌲⛰️ As you get closer, there are fewer and fewer buildings and more natural scenery 💚 If it is your first visit, be sure to keep the final access stretch in mind! There is a section where the road can seem hard to see on the navigation map, but just continue straight following the directions and you will arrive at Deo Swim 🚗

I think it is good to know this before a first visit 🙌 But because it is so far in, there are hardly any tall buildings or busy roads around the stay, and mountains surround it on all sides 🌲⛰️🌲

It felt like we had stepped into quiet nature, so after arriving, this location actually felt like one of Deo Swim's charms 💚 When you arrive, visit INFORMATION and they will kindly help with the key card and room information 😊👍🏻

A Private Caravan-Like Stay with a Hotel-Like X5 Interior

The room we stayed in this time was X5 🏡✨ Deo Swim has private standalone units, and their rounded, elongated form gives them a caravan-like feel.

But the atmosphere changes completely once you step inside 😆 With its neat wood-toned interior, bedding, and huge picture windows, it felt closer to a hotel room than a typical pension 🤎✨ The official information also says that the bedding is maintained through a mattress-care service.

Rather than feeling cute and cramped like the caravans people often imagine, the room was neatly arranged and felt open thanks to the huge windows 🫢⛺️ The privacy of a standalone pension + a unique caravan-like exterior + a hotel-like room atmosphere—this blend felt like Deo Swim's own special feature 💚

And what I loved most about X5 was, of course, the mountain view 🌲💚 Large picture windows run around the bed, so you can take in the mountain scenery right from the room. In the morning, press the remote from bed and the curtains slowly open, revealing green mountain scenery beyond the windows all at once ☀️🌿 Personally, it was the prettiest moment at Deo Swim 💚

Kitchen Facilities and Room Amenities

When you are spending time at a pension from dinner through the next morning, it matters what is prepared in the room too, right? 😆

The room has a Nespresso coffee machine, induction cooktop, microwave, water purifier, tableware, and basic cooking tools 🍳🍽️

The Nespresso was especially nice to have for the next morning ☕✨ The bathroom had basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, and there was a bidet too 🚿🫧

The next morning, I made coffee with the Nespresso and had it with Yeongwol salt bread that I bought in Yeongwol 🥐☕💕 It was such a relaxed morning, starting with coffee and salt bread while the electric curtains were wide open and I looked outside 🌿 Taking things slowly at the stay was one of the lovely parts of this trip too 😊

How Were the Private Barbecue and Fire Pit?

In the evening, it was time for the private barbecue we had been looking forward to 🔥 There is a separate barbecue area right beside X5, and the barbecue fee is ₩30,000 🥩🥓🍖🍗 It is not a shared space with other guests, so the layout lets two people dine comfortably—perfect for a couple's trip too 💕

It was close to the room, so it was convenient to bring over food from the refrigerator or anything else we needed too 👍

We came well prepared with meat 🥩, shrimp 🦐, sausages 🌭, mushrooms 🍄, cheese 🧀, and wine 🍷 💕 Putting the meat, shrimp, mushrooms, and sausages on the grill all at once really gave us that proper pension-trip feeling 🔥✨

After the barbecue, you can enjoy the fire pit too 🔥🌙 I also liked that we could continue straight from barbecue → fire pit without going anywhere else after dinner 🥰

The Unmanned Store and Board Games

Because Deo Swim is deep in the Yeongwol mountains, it is best to prepare food and anything you need before heading in 🚗

Still, there is an unmanned store at the stay for simple snacks or anything you suddenly need 🙌 According to the notice, its hours are 08:00–22:00 on weekdays and 08:00–23:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. For a stay in the mountains, having this kind of convenience was quietly useful 👍

There were board games ready too, including Rummikub, Halli Galli, and Da Vinci Code 🎲✨

They were great for spending time together after the barbecue too 💕

A Different Mood at Night with Aurora Lighting

The mountain-and-room view was beautiful by day, but at night the lighting completely changed the mood 🌙✨ As lights came on along the curved exterior, the distinctive caravan-like shape stood out even more at night 🌙 Because the surrounding mountains are so dark, the lines of the building showed clearly, so I took some nighttime exterior photos too 📸💕

Mountain views by day 🌲 Private barbecue in the evening 🥩 A fire pit after the meal 🔥 Aurora lighting at night 🌌 We could also enjoy aurora and starlight lighting in the room 🌌💙💜 Blue and purple light spread across the ceiling and curtains, with tiny stars sparkling too ✨⭐ It was a completely different mood from when the electric curtains were wide open during the day 💜 The atmosphere changed with each part of the day, so we made the most of it 😆💕

A Memorable Overnight Stay at Deo Swim

This was a trip where I discovered Deo Swim first and then chose Yeongwol as our destination 🚗 Maybe that is why the time we spent at the stay remains just as memorable as the sightseeing. The exterior is uniquely caravan-like, and each space is independent and private; yet inside, I especially loved the clean feeling of staying somewhere more like a hotel than a regular pension 🤎✨ Most memorable of all was the mountain scenery from the X5 room 🌲⛰️

In particular, the moment when I pressed the remote from bed in the morning and the electric curtains slowly opened to reveal the mountains beyond the picture window is what I remember most from this trip 💚 We enjoyed a private barbecue together in the evening 🥩🍷, had a fire pit after dinner 🔥, changed the mood with aurora lighting at night 🌌, and had Nespresso coffee while looking at the mountains the next morning ☕🌿 It was an overnight stay where the time at the accommodation itself became part of the trip 😊💕
