Head into Yeoui-do IFC Mall~~ go up to L3! It was crowded since it was the weekend~

From the entrance you could already feel Modam Urban's distinctive modern mood. With a white base and soft lighting added, the whole space looked upscale and calm.

There was a standing sign near the entrance introducing Modam Urban's signature menu items. It was nice to see at a glance what kind of place it was before even going in, and even though it's Korean food, the vibe leans more modern and refined than traditional.

Private rooms and seating at Modam Urban

Modam Urban's Yeoui-do branch has divided seating like B1 and B2, plus an R1 room, private tables, and even sofa-style seats. Heading further inside, there's a wood-decorated space in the center. Small pines and stones set on white gravel gave it a clean yet subtly Korean feel!! Thanks to details like this, the space didn't feel flat and the atmosphere came alive more.

Seats were arranged on both sides of the hallway. They're divided like B1, B2, and each can be used almost like its own separate space, which seemed great for family or company gatherings~haha

This is the R1 room area. With translucent glass doors and small wall decorations, it felt private without feeling stuffy. The lighting wasn't too bright or too dim either, making it a comfortable mood for a meal.

This is the private table area. With pendant lighting and artwork on the walls, it felt more like an atmospheric dining space than a simple restaurant.

The regular table seating was also fairly spacious. The wood-tone tables matched well with the beige chairs, and the gaps between tables were relatively generous, so you could eat without worrying too much about neighboring tables~

Overall the seating was neatly arranged, and there were also sofa-style seats running along the wall. The layout felt comfortable even with a larger group, making it good for gatherings.

A combination of chewy mushroom and fragrant chamnamul (Korean aster greens). The subtle truffle scent came through, giving it a bit of a different mood from typical Korean side dishes. The fragrance of the chamnamul kept it feeling clean overall.

4. Spicy mushroom gangjeong (crispy glazed bites)

Mushrooms cooked crispy then coated in a spicy-sweet sauce. The outside had a chewy yet crispy texture, and the sauce was sweet. It was the most bold-flavored of the appetizers and really woke up the appetite.

5. Cold platter with smoked duck

The salty, savory taste of smoked duck combined with the crisp texture of vegetables. Since it's served cold, it was nice to pair with meat dishes in between bites, and its tanginess cleansed the palate.

6. Perilla oil capellini

Thin noodles with the nutty aroma of perilla oil added. The noodles were thin and soft, easy to eat without feeling heavy, and the deep nuttiness of perilla oil came through subtly. I liked that a Korean restaurant served a dish in this style alongside the rest.

Which main dishes we ordered and what they cost

Now for the main dishes!

What we ordered was the minari hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap for ₩29,900 and the smoky crispy bulgogi for ₩29,900. The table was fully loaded~~✨

Doenjang (soybean paste) soup came out too, perfect with rice~ Aged kimchi came along as well and it was delicious!! Nice that side dish refills are available^^

Minari hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap, 29,900 won

This dish has 1++ grade hanwoo (Korean beef) yukhoe (raw beef) with hanjae minari (water dropwort), seasonal vegetables, cheongyang chili, and egg yolk.

The colors were pretty from the first look. The savory yukhoe, green minari, and various vegetables piled on top made it look fresh just by looking at it~~

Breaking the egg yolk and mixing it in adds a nutty, soft richness that deepens the flavor further. The savoriness of the yukhoe and the fragrance of the minari go really well together.

The yukhoe was tender to chew, and the distinct nutty flavor of hanwoo came through first.

With the minari mixed in, a fragrant, fresh flavor was added. Mixing in the seasonal vegetables too gave a nice crisp texture~

Smoky crispy bulgogi, 29,900 won

This dish is bulgogi aged for 24 hours, served with grilled green onion and mushrooms.

True to its name, a subtle smoky char flavor came through. The surface of the bulgogi was grilled slightly crispy while the inside stayed tender, making for an interesting textural contrast while chewing.

The sweet, salty bulgogi sauce combined with the meat's own umami made it perfect with rice.

The grilled green onion brought out sweetness, and eating it together with the bulgogi made the overall flavor much richer. The mushrooms had soaked up the sauce too, giving a chewy, moist texture, and having them between bites of meat kept things from feeling greasy.

Milk pudding came out for dessert~ A sweet, soft pudding with a clean milk flavor!!
