How is the location for dinner and drinks near Jamsil Station?

While looking for somewhere in Bangi-dong, Jamsil to have dinner and a casual drink, I visited Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch (와르르맨숀 방이점). It is in Bangi Food Alley, so it was fairly easy to find when meeting near Jamsil Station. The restaurant is on the second floor at 11-8 Ogeum-ro 11-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

The retro green sign stood out even from a distance.

Is it good for talking with friends or gathering as a group?

The interior was spacious and neat. With its large screen, I thought it could also work well for a group watching a game. Even though there were people there when I visited, it did not feel noisy, perhaps because there was a fair amount of space between tables. It was comfortable to talk with a friend I had not seen in a while.

What were the conditions for the ₩100 draft beer promotion?

At the time of my visit, there was a promotion offering the first draft beer for ₩100 when arriving before 7 p.m. It was limited to one glass per person and up to four glasses per group. We arrived before 7 p.m. and used it too. It was a hot day, and the cold beer made the first glass especially enjoyable.

Did the half-and-half croissant pizza go well with beer?

There were so many menu options that we deliberated for a while, then ordered a bulgogi-and-pepperoni half-and-half croissant pizza and spicy tomato haejang ppeshe for dinner.

The pizza felt inexpensive, so I did not expect much, but the crust was thick and there were generous toppings. The croissant dough was crisp outside, soft inside, and pleasantly nutty.

With bulgogi on one side and pepperoni on the other, the two of us could share it and alternate between the flavors. The bulgogi was sweet and savory, while the pepperoni had a distinct salty flavor that went especially well with beer. Three sauces were served too, making it easy to dip according to our preferences, and I enjoyed the nutty crust as well.

How spicy was the spicy tomato haejang ppeshe?

The spicy tomato haejang ppeshe, a tomato-based seafood pasta with a warming spicy broth, combined the tartness of tomato with a spicy soup-like flavor, making it good to spoon between bites of pizza. I was worried it might be hot because of the name, but it was not spicy to me. It had plenty of broth and seafood, so it was filling enough to eat as a meal.

Were the portions suitable for two people at dinner?

Having the pizza and spicy tomato haejang ppeshe together was more filling than I expected. There was quite a lot of pasta for two people, and we left a substantial amount. Based on how much we ate, I thought one main dish and one side dish would have been enough.

There was deodorizer, toothpicks, and mouthwash by the payment counter to use after the meal. The service was friendly, and it was an easy place to enjoy dinner and beer while talking with a friend. During my visit, the draft beer promotion also helped reduce the cost of drinks.
