Yeouido gimbap restaurant stroller outing with a 2-month-old

A Yeouido outing with a 2-month-old, bags packed to the brim

Ever since the baby was born, even one outing has become a huge production 😂 Before, if I wanted to go somewhere, I'd just grab one bag and head out. Now there's formula, bottles, diapers, wet wipes, spare clothes — so much to pack…!

Still, staying home all the time felt suffocating, so we worked up the courage, packed the diaper bag full, and headed to Yeouido — dad, mom, and our 2-month-old little bean 👶🏻🤍

Today's packed itinerary: IFC Mall stroller rental → Hyeonseonine → Terarosa → The Hyundai Seoul stroller rental → Absorba x Sanrio pop-up → Jellycat. Bottom line up front: both IFC Mall and The Hyundai Seoul are indoors, so weather barely matters, there are tons of good restaurants, and the nursing rooms and diaper-changing spaces are well set up — making it a pretty solid spot for a first mall outing with a young baby.

Okay, let's start with Hyeonseonine, one of my favorite spots. It's right along the walk from the subway station to IFC Mall.

Both the outdoor seats and the indoor seats are spotless.

Hyeonseonine set plus a drink — what came out

My husband and I decided to get the Hyeonseonine set with a drink added.

The self bar is inside. They even have aprons — good thing, since we happened to be wearing white that day.

Eek, finally our lunch arrived ㅠㅠ so moved. It's been forever since we've had a meal out, just the two of us.

First, a cold gulp of cider (Korean lemon-lime soda) haha

Fish cake broth to kick off the meal.

We ordered the tteokbokki medium-spicy — just the right amount of kick.

The mini gimbap topped with nutty sesame seeds is pretty filling too.

The sundae and liver were glossy and shiny ❤️

And the fried snacks complete a perfectly balanced meal (?). Once you're deep in parenting, this kind of bold, punchy food hits even harder somehow. Is it just me?

Dipping the fried snacks in the tteokbokki sauce is delicious too. Meanwhile the baby has no idea where she even is, sleeping soundly and peacefully in the stroller 😴 Only mom and dad were thrilled to finally be out.

Two cups of coffee at Terarosa

Next up, Terarosa coffee. Ordering two cups and sitting down finally made it feel like a real outing 🤎

Going to a café with a baby means we can't sit and chat leisurely for hours like before, but even a short coffee break felt like being brought back to life. The baby slept well in the stroller too — peaceful café time, success ✨

Stroller rental and nursing room locations at IFC Mall and The Hyundai Seoul

IFC Mall's stroller rental is on L3 next to the steak restaurant, and there are nursing rooms on every floor.

Having a nursing room on every floor is a huge plus — no need to take an elevator to some specific floor just to feed the baby. It was a Nuna portable stroller, and the staff kindly explained how to use it too +_+

Here's what the nursing room looks like. There's a water dispenser and a microwave too, so it seemed like a good spot even for babies eating formula or baby food 👍🏻

At The Hyundai Seoul, you can rent a stroller either on 1F next to the Tiffany store or on 5F, and the 5F baby lounge was so well equipped it was honestly impressive. Maybe that's why it was way more crowded than IFC.

Even the strollers on offer were high-end — a Bugaboo Fox 5, wow.

The 5F baby lounge has not just a nursing room but also a diaper-changing table, baby chairs, a nap room, and a kitchen.

Absorba x Sanrio pop-up and Jellycat

At The Hyundai, everything is on the 5th floor, so the flow is really efficient. We took a good look at the Absorba x Sanrio My Melody pop-up collab.

They give out gifts based on purchase amount, but as a mom, just the diaper and formula costs are already a lot to handle, little bean 🥹

Jellycat is super cute too, but the prices are just as wickedly high, so I shut my wallet tight 💦 hahaha

Thoughts after our baby's first mall outing

For our last stop, we picked up takeout from a Baskin Robbins near home to finish things off! Before, whenever I came to Yeouido, I'd go looking for good restaurants, pop-up stores, or places to shop. Now that we have a baby, the first things I notice are: where can I rent a stroller? Where's the elevator? Where's the nursing room? Where can I get diapers? My whole perspective has completely changed 🤣

The baby is only two months old, so at first I worried whether it was okay to bring her somewhere this crowded, but it went more smoothly than expected. Endless thanks to Hyeonseonine for making such a delicious, dreamy meal out possible for two parents worn down by childcare ㅜㅜㅜㅜ
