A great grilled meat spot near Dangsan Station Chodaechang's galbisal + teuk-yang grill

I found a fantastic beef restaurant for the first time in ages. Today I'm bringing you a review of Chodaechang, a spot near Dangsan Station known for its grilled daechang (large intestines) and teuk-yang (abomasum).

Delicious galbi and a chewy texture that goes perfectly with soju — here's my review of the teuk-yang grill.

What should I drink with tonight? A grilled meat restaurant is always the safe bet.

Chodaechang Dangsan Station is on the 2nd floor — what's the vibe like?
I didn't know about this place since the restaurant isn't on the ground floor, but inside it was packed with customers. Immediately I could tell — this is a hidden gem in Dangsan.

I usually prefer clean, comfortable restaurants over the cramped old-school kind, and this place satisfied me — the tables had plenty of space and the seats were comfortable. The tableware was even individually wrapped, so it felt very clean.

Once we ordered the meat, the side dishes came out — salad, a breadcrumb corn salad, and some kind of pickled jangajji. A dipping sauce for the meat came out too.

We ordered 2 servings of salted galbisal steak + 1 serving of teuk-yang grill
Maybe because it's such a popular spot near Dangsan Station, the restaurant was busy and the serving robot was working hard. Our galbisal and teuk-yang arrived. We ordered the salted galbisal steak at ₩18,000 per serving, two servings, and the Chodaechang teuk-yang grill at ₩21,000, just one serving.

The staff seemed to grill it for us — sort of? They put it on the grill first, then kept circling around checking on several tables. When they're busy they can't always keep an eye on your grill, so you have to watch it yourself so it doesn't burn.
Look at that color on the beef. Zero color correction, I swear.
Doesn't the beef at Chodaechang Dangsan Station look incredibly red and delicious? It genuinely had no smell at all and looked super fresh.

Another round of drinks — the soju drinker and the cola drinker, everyone fills their glass their own way.

Load up a snack with a perfectly cooked piece of beef, cheers, and eat right away — pure happiness.

Salted galbisal steak — the taste
Since this place specializes in makchang, daechang and teuk-yang, the beef was fresh and delicious too. You know how offal restaurants tend to have fresh meat, right?
Beef gets tough if you overcook it, so grill it just right, dip it lightly in oil-salt sauce or the seasoned sauce that comes out first, let it cool a touch, and the savory beefy aroma really comes through.
Chodaechang near Dangsan Station — highly, highly recommend the salted galbisal steak.

The 1,000-won kimchi noodle soup — skip the rice bowl, get this instead
How can you pass up kimchi noodle soup when it's only 1,000 won? We ordered it right away.

Thin wheat noodles dunked in a tangy, sweet, cold broth — being cold made them even chewier and more delicious.
If you need some carbs while eating meat, skip the rice bowl and get the kimchi noodle soup instead, haha. Every table around us was ordering it too — clearly a bestseller for a reason, it was that good.

Wrapping up with one serving of teuk-yang grill
After finishing the galbisal and changing the grill plate once, we finished off with an order of teuk-yang grill. The chewy texture was really great.
Chodaechang near Dangsan Station, teuk-yang grill — just watching it get snipped with scissors, you could feel how chewy the abomasum was. Genuinely so springy.

Unlike regular gopchang or daechang, the teuk-yang cut has zero greasiness and a lot of chewy texture left — a premium specialty part. The more you chew, the more savory it gets, making it the perfect final order at just one serving.

Fishing out the cheongyang chili peppers from the sauce and piling them on top of the yang grill made it spicier and even more delicious. If you're a spice lover, this combo comes highly recommended.
Parking at Chodaechang Dangsan Station?
Parking at Chodaechang near Dangsan Station — apparently there's free parking in front of a pharmacy behind the restaurant?? But the space is tight, so you need to call the staff directly to check before you visit. There was one spot left when we went, but it was hard to find, so we just used a nearby paid parking lot instead.
