Daseon Kalguksu (다선칼국수) was seriously so delicious that I really want to recommend it to anyone who loves kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) 💛 If you do not usually eat kalguksu often, or want to get started with a truly good kalguksu spot, I think Daseon Kalguksu would be a great place to begin 🙌 You can enjoy bossam (boiled pork wraps) alongside the noodles too, so it is perfect for a filling meal and works well for a group visit 🍽️ Let me introduce Daseon Kalguksu, which would also make a great venue for a Gyodae Station company dinner ✨

Daseon Kalguksu near Gyodae Station: location and information
How close is it to Gyodae Station Exit 14?

Daseon Kalguksu has a really great location too 📍 It is less than a five-minute walk from Gyodae Station Exit 14, so getting there from the station was easy 🚶♀️ Since you do not have to walk far, it is an easy choice for dinner or a Gyodae Station company dinner 😊 If you are looking for a good kalguksu restaurant near Gyodae Station, keep Daseon Kalguksu in mind for its convenient location too 💛
Is parking available?

Parking is available in front of the restaurant, so visitors arriving by car can use it comfortably 🚗 Being close to Gyodae Station and offering parking as well, it seemed like a good choice for a family meal or a Gyodae Station company dinner 😊
Hours

Daseon Kalguksu is open from 11 AM to 11 PM on weekdays ⏰ and from 11:30 AM to 10 PM on weekends 😊 Since it serves food until late in the evening on weekdays, it is great for stopping by after work or using for a Gyodae Station company dinner 💛
A spacious interior extending to the second floor

Daseon Kalguksu extends to the second floor, so the interior is much more spacious than I expected 🏠 There are plenty of seats, making it nice for a group visit, a family meal, or a Gyodae Station company dinner 😊 I liked that the spacious setting seemed to make dining during meal times feel relatively relaxed too 💛

Starting the meal with barley rice

Barley rice comes out among the side dishes, and it is quietly such a treat 😋 Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) sauce is essential with barley rice, and Daseon Kalguksu’s sauce was nutty and sweet, really waking up my appetite 💛 It was nice to mix up and eat lightly before the noodles arrived, and it was fun to have before getting into the main meal 🙌

Instead of alcohol, I wrapped up the day with a cool drink 🥤

Bossam, jang kalguksu, and assorted jeon
Bossam ₩28,000

The set menus were tempting, but since we were not planning to drink that day, we ordered individual dishes 😊 We chose the small bossam, and I really loved that it stayed warm throughout the meal 🥩 It did not cool down over time, so we could enjoy tender, moist, warm bossam right to the end 💛 It paired wonderfully with the kalguksu too, which made me very happy 😋

Jang kalguksu ₩12,000

It had been a while since I had jang kalguksu, and it was seriously so delicious 😋 Whenever I went to Gangneung, I always planned to eat jang kalguksu, but after having it at Daseon Kalguksu, I thought I would not even need to go all the way to Gangneung for it anymore 😂 Personally, Daseon Kalguksu’s jang kalguksu suited my taste much better than the jang kalguksu I had eaten in Gangneung 💛 The broth was rich and pleasantly spicy, went so well with the noodles, and I just kept reaching for more 🙌 Since the jang kalguksu was this good, I became curious about what the other kalguksu dishes would taste like 😊 Next time, I definitely want to try another kind too ✨

Assorted jeon ₩26,000

I was even more satisfied with the assorted jeon because it was made up entirely of dishes I love 😋 It comes with yukjeon (pan-fried beef), saeu jeon (pan-fried shrimp), and aehobak jeon (pan-fried zucchini) 💛

I normally really love aehobak jeon, and this one was, as expected, subtly sweet, tender, and so delicious 😊

The shrimp in the saeu jeon was bigger and plumper than I expected, so it had a really satisfying bite 🦐

What more is there to say about yukjeon? 🙌 The oil tasted clean, so it felt less greasy than jeon can sometimes be, and it was lovely and nutty ✨ On a day when I am craving jeon, I think it would be the absolute best combination with makgeolli (Korean rice wine) 🍶

A hearty combination near Gyodae Station
From the kalguksu to the bossam and assorted jeon, everything at Daseon Kalguksu was satisfying 😋 I especially loved the jang kalguksu, so next time I definitely want to try another kalguksu dish too 💛

The menu combination was great too: warm, moist bossam along with yukjeon, saeu jeon, and aehobak jeon 🙌 I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good kalguksu restaurant near Gyodae Station or a Gyodae Station venue for a group meal 😊 With its location close to the station, parking, and spacious two-floor setup, Daseon Kalguksu was a comfortable place for a meal ✨
