It had been a while since my husband and I had enjoyed a lunch date, just the two of us. Since we both love sashimi, we decided to have it for lunch. While looking for somewhere we could enjoy fresh sashimi without spending too much, I found Songdo Jonghap Eosijang (송도종합어시장).

A seafood restaurant in Songdo that is easy to reach by car
This is a great place to visit when you want sashimi in Songdo. You can park in the building’s underground lot and head comfortably up to the restaurant, so it is easy to visit by car too.

Once inside, the restaurant was more spacious than I expected. There was plenty of room between the tables, so it looked good for a family meal or a meal with several people. We came as a pair, but seeing the large dining room made me think it would also be nice for a company dinner or gathering. We went for an early lunch, and customers start coming in from noon, so I recommend arriving a little early.

A wide menu, from sashimi to full meals
This Songdo seafood restaurant has everything from individual dishes and assorted platters to sekkosi, thinly sliced raw fish served with the bones, which I love!

They also had seasonal fish such as small yellowtail, large yellowtail, and fall gizzard shad. Looking at the menu made me want to eat it all.ㅠㅠ

There were also so many seafood, sushi, and meal options, so you can pick according to your taste, right?

A ₩12,000-per-person lunch sashimi set
Out of all those options, we chose the ₩12,000 lunch special sashimi set. I thought a sashimi set would only come with sashimi, but the spread was much more generous than expected. I immediately thought, “We have to get this!” Just note that it cannot be ordered after 2 PM.

After a short wait, the dishes started arriving one by one. As the table filled up, it looked quite generous for two people.

Flatfish and flounder sashimi, plus crisp shrimp tempura
I think freshness determines most of sashimi’s flavor. They explained that Songdo Jonghap Eosijang brings in top-quality live fish from Yeonan Pier every dawn, then catches and prepares it as needed, so you can enjoy fresh sashimi.

On the day we visited, we had flatfish and flounder sashimi. They are both fish I love, so I was even happier to see them~ haha. The slices were not too thin, so each bite had a lovely sashimi texture. Best of all, it was clean-tasting without any fishiness. Freshness really is everything with sashimi!
And the shrimp tempura was something I especially enjoyed! Perhaps because it came out freshly fried, it was crisp outside and moist inside. It was even better eaten warm.

And you cannot leave out gyeran-jjim, steamed egg! The soft, fluffy steamed egg was another little treat between bites of sashimi.

Sashimi and sushi too—the set was so well put together, right? Yum yum, the sushi was delicious too!!

Extra hoe-deopbap and spicy fish stew
Hoe-deopbap, rice mixed with raw fish and vegetables, was not included in Songdo Jonghap Eosijang’s lunch special, but we ordered it separately. I loved that it had quite a lot of sashimi in it! Mixing the fresh fish, vegetables, and sauce together made this delicious too. If you love sashimi, I would recommend the hoe-deopbap as well!

The final dish was maeuntang, spicy fish stew! Honestly, we were already pretty full after eating so many things beforehand. But you cannot have spicy fish stew without rice, right? In the end, we added one bowl of rice and properly finished the stew too.
Oh, and maeuntang does not come out right away, so if you plan to eat it last like we did, I recommend ordering it in advance before you have eaten too much of the sashimi and other dishes. After hot spicy fish stew with rice, we were truly full and satisfied.

A generous spread and a receipt-review event
A table this generously set for ₩12,000 per person~ that is exactly this place’s appeal! Sashimi, sushi, sea squirt, shrimp tempura, steamed egg... and finally spicy fish stew! It was such a complete spread.

They are also running a receipt-review event, so do not forget to claim your complimentary drink service~ ^^

Looking for a Songdo seafood restaurant where you can enjoy tasty, fresh sashimi without a big price tag? The aquarium tanks were well maintained, and being able to watch the fish-preparation process made the place feel even more trustworthy! The sashimi was fresh and the prices were not burdensome, so it felt like an easy place to visit. I recommend Songdo Jonghap Eosijang as a fresh, good-value sashimi restaurant! My husband and I had such a lovely, delicious lunch date together after a long time.
