Vintage American Vibes in a Yeonnam-dong Alley

As you walk through the alleys of Yeonnam-dong, there is one place whose warm garden-green exterior catches your eye. It is Hey Joji (HEY GEORGE), a popular Yeonnam-dong spot serving American home-style Western food.

From the entrance, the wooden sign, green awning, and vintage objects make it feel as though you have stepped into a small, welcoming restaurant abroad.

A Cozy, Atmospheric Interior
Inside, the muted green palette and warm wood interior create a calming feel.
Stylish framed pictures and objects fill the walls, while cozy sofa seating sits by the windows. The details bring every part of the space to life, making it perfect for a date or a gathering.

The cute yellow plates set on the table read, “Hey! Enjoy your life from. George.” Even little details, such as the ketchup-bottle-shaped napkin holder and classic water bottle, conveyed Hey Joji’s distinctive mood.

Duck Truffle Cream Risotto and Chicken Tender Salad
The dishes I enjoyed that day were duck truffle cream risotto and chicken tender salad.

Duck Truffle Cream Risotto
This signature dish comes in a dedicated bowl marked “HEY ♥ GEORGE,” filled with savory truffle cream risotto and topped with a golden-seared duck breast steak.
The instant you take a bite, the deep truffle aroma fills your mouth. The rich, nutty cream sauce coats each grain of rice well, while the duck is crisp outside and moist within. Bright cherry tomatoes and arugula cut through the creaminess, so the dish stays clean and enjoyable to the last bite.

Chicken Tender Salad
This salad is piled generously with fresh, crunchy vegetables, cheese grated over the top like snow, and crisp fried chicken tenders.
The freshly fried tenders balance a crunchy coating with tender meat, and the savory, fresh dressing cleans up the palate. It is an excellent match for the rich cream risotto.

From the interior mood to the food presentation and the finished dishes, Hey Joji offers a thoroughly satisfying time. If you want a delicious meal in a characteristically warm setting, I highly recommend Hey Joji!

Nutritional Profile of the Two Dishes
Duck Truffle Cream Risotto: Duck breast is rich in protein and unsaturated fatty acids that support energy metabolism, giving it strong nutritional value. However, the combination of carbohydrate-heavy risotto rice and cream sauce makes this a higher-calorie, higher-fat dish, so it works well as a filling meal.
Chicken Tender Salad: Romaine and fresh vegetables provide plenty of vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, supporting gut health and digestion. Chicken tenderloin tenders add quality protein and help balance the risotto nutritionally.
Together, the two dishes make a combination that provides a balanced mix of protein, carbohydrates, and dietary fiber.
