Best of all, this place is less than a minute's walk from Children's Grand Park Station (Exit 4), and since it has no separate break time, it's a great ramen restaurant for a late lunch. There's a kiosk right when you walk in. This place is popular, so you can check for a seat first and then order at the kiosk. Every table also has a tablet installed, so you can order right from your seat too.

The main menu and what we ordered this time

These are Mentsuru Children's Grand Park Branch's signature menu items. On this visit we ordered the signature shoyu ramen and the hormone-don.

Yuzu pickled radish served as a basic side dish

Above all, this yuzu pickled radish you can help yourself to as a basic side dish is truly my favorite... it's so clean and refreshing I could genuinely finish the whole container.

There's also black pepper available to add to your food according to taste.

The shoyu ramen and beef intestine rice bowl, tasted firsthand

A bowl of Mentsuru's signature shoyu ramen

What does the shoyu ramen broth taste like?

The shoyu ramen is made with a broth simmered from chicken bones and clams together, and it left a deep, clean impression from the very first sip. The umami of the soy-based broth blends beautifully with the refreshing quality unique to clams and the savory richness of the chicken stock, so I kept going back for more broth. Thanks to how clean and soothing it is, it's the perfect hangover-curing ramen at this Children's Grand Park restaurant!

We also ordered extra seaweed and egg. It was a hearty portion, plenty for one adult to eat. And on top of that, the broth was just so clean-tasting!

Hormone-don topped with beef intestine and beef belly

Hormone-don: a rice bowl with beef intestine and beef belly

The hormone-don we ordered alongside it is a special rice bowl piled high with beef intestine and beef belly stir-fried in Mentsuru's own secret sauce. Honestly, just looking at it, you can't even imagine how good it's going to be. The beef intestine was chewy and savory with no off-flavor, the beef belly was tender, and the salty-sweet sauce had soaked in deeply, making it great to mix through with the rice. Paired with the ramen broth, the combination was excellent, and I really got to feel what makes this a proper Konkuk-area restaurant.
